***UPDATE WINNERS HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED AND NOMINATIONS ARE CLOSED, PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAIL PERIODICALLY THROUGHOUT THE DAY AS TICKETS MAY BE REDRAWN IF A WINNER CAN NO LONGER ATTEND********
It’s Random Acts of Kindness Week (RAK) so let’s spread some kindness! The MFRC has received a limited amount of tickets to Little Big Town on Feb. 24 at 7:30 pm at Rogers Place!
... Military families can nominate a friend (does not need to be someone in the military community) who has shown them kindness this year for a chance to win a pair of tickets to see Little Big Town! Write in the comments what this person has done to deserve an outing! We will draw names (and the winner can thank their friend who nominated them by bringing them to this award-winning country group! Wink Wink) and winners will be emailed on February 22nd after 10 am.
Good luck to all who enter!

FREE Adult Event- Defence/Veteran Community Movie Screening of The Mask You Live In
We’ve come a long way since women were on Venus and men were on Mars. But we need to go further towards creating a more compassionate, caring, conscious culture for our girls and our boys. This is about understanding what is beneath the surface of our boys’ tough facades, helping them to “take off their masks,” asking them the questions to find out what’s really going on—and being strong enoug...h to accept them for who they really are.
Our goal is to work towards a society of gender respect—adopting new language, throwing out stereotypes, and helping boys to share their true feelings. This can only help us move forward in the right direction. We’ve taken the first steps – now we’re asking parents, teachers, coaches, and anyone mentoring young boys to join us. Please be aware that the film does deal with difficult subjects.
You will not want to miss this chance to screen the award-winning movie followed by a panel discussion hosted in partnership with SAFFRON to discuss what our community can do to take action on this issue.
Date: Monday, March 11 Time: 7:00pm - 10:00pm Location: Landmark St. Albert Cinemas Register online before March 6 through Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/defencevetera n-community-movie-… Open to: For adults from Military and Veteran families as well as the Defence Community
