About Edmonton Horticultural Society

The Edmonton Horticultural Society (EHS) is a volunteer-run, non-profit society committed to fostering an interest in and an understanding and enjoyment of gardening. Since 1909, we have been a vital part of gardening in the Edmonton, Alberta area. From novice to very experienced, our members are primarily amateur home gardeners. Our activities support our members' needs, interests and gardening enjoyment, as well as contribute to the beauty of our communities. Each year we offer a range of activities for members and the general public, such as: -Exciting and interesting speakers -Plant exchanges and sales -Garden tours -Garden competitions -Flower and vegetable (Bench) shows -Gardening information and inspirationWorking in the community is a long-standing EHS tradition. Partnerships with the City of Edmonton enhance public spaces, support local horticulture, and educate and encourage gardeners. We also connect with other like-minded groups. Volunteers are our strength! Whether organizing a tour, sitting on the Board of Directors, or maintaining perennials and pruning roses on the grounds of the Muttart Conservatory, our volunteers do it all!
