I first seriously picked up a camera just after I finished my university degree. I’m not sure when exactly that was (I’d have to do the math) but let’s just say that film was still a reality and the digital age of photography was still in its infancy. It was basically a snowball effect after that. As an avid artist during my younger years I initially fell in love with landscape and travel photography. There were periods where I had my camera with me at all times (not much has changed! ) and I photographed anything and everything. Soon after I managed to secure several exhibitions in cafes and coffee shops around the city and was quite successful at selling prints. After numerous suggestions that I try my hand at portrait photography I soon started shooting friends and family. Then the first wedding came, followed by the second. And the rest is history.

I never lost my love of landscape photography and if you’ve looked at my portfolio you’ll see that it’s quite evident in the way I shoot. Be it city-scapes, mountains, or beaches, I strive to incorporate as much of the surroundings as I can into each photograph. After all, the places which we choose to celebrate our most special moments also deserve attention and care. I like to shoot as the day unfolds and strive to catch the spontaneous, genuine moments which make your photographs timeless.

My photographic style blends my appreciation for the aesthetics of natural and urban landscapes and combines it with a photojournalistic style intent on capturing the moment. After all, memories and emotions are that much more meaningful when they are coupled with a special place and time. It has been years since I first seriously picked up a camera and each time I pick up my camera I still find something new I have to try. When I'm not shooting weddings, I am usually following my welsh terrier or my wife around the house with my camera, riding my bike in the River Valley or hitting the slopes if there's fresh powder.
