Edward Jones - Todd Schmekel

The ability to positively impact lives has always been my goal. I spent 25 years in education as a teacher, principal and senior leader. I've run my own technology business and travelled extensively throughout the world. If there's one thing I've learned is that when we take the complex and make it simple we are all more likely to find success. I've taken this adage and applied it to my practice at Edward Jones. I grew up in a family of investors, my mother was a banker and my father was a director of a crown corporation. They both believed and taught us that you don't get something for nothing and that hard work and keeping your focus on your goal pays off in the long run. It's a good lesson and I wish I'd learned it just a bit earlier in life. I have two wonderful daughters, a lovely and supportive wife and a couple of crazy pooches to round out the house. Oh and there's a cat too. I am an avid skier, enjoy international travel and spend much of the summer 'glamping' in BC and Idaho. I've lived in the Calgary area for the last 10 years, but called Saskatchewan home for a good part of my life. If you ever find yourself near my office feel free to drop by and say hello.
