E J Mower Centre Ltd was named after its founder, Emery Jardine. Emery and his wife, Dianne, started E J Mower Centre Ltd in the spring of 1977, specializing in lawn mower sales and services. E J Mower Centre Ltd has since grown to be one of the largest independent retailers of outdoor power equipment in the city of Calgary.

In the early days of opening E J Mower Centre Ltd, Emery and Dianne were committed to working hard to provide for their young family. Since they were the only employees, Emery would service machines in between selling parts and equipment. Dianne was front and centre, making sure each customer was greeted in such a friendly manner that many of those early customers are still loyal customers to this day.
