POOL CLOSURE Nov 19: Unfortunately we have had to close the leisure pool today due to a "Code Brown" during this morning's swim lessons. The closure includes the Leisure Pool and Waterslide, but the Lap Pool and Hot Tub are still open. Please remember to always take children to the washroom prior to swim lessons and to ensure that you have two layers of diaper coverage for children that are not potty trained. The pool will be open tomorrow at 8:00 am on the regular schedule.

User

UPDATE: The hot tub is up and running again! Thanks for your understanding.

Unfortunately, we have to close the hot tub for the remainder of today. It should be ready for use tomorrow (Friday). Apologies for the inconvenience.

What a great time.

Great staff and great facility.

Thanks from my fam and I.

User

We love both the climbing facilities and the pool area! Our family couldn't wait to come back and climb again!

User

Very nice facility with Climbing and Pool areas - great for a wellness dates, and something to do in Canmore when weather isnt great for outdoor activities!

User

This was my first time there but second for the kids and my husband. It actually lived up to all the praises I heard of it.

I found it well laid out and spacious. The natural location is very beautiful. There are so many things to keep you busy. The pools looked very clean. The rock climbing was another main attraction. Its a nice place to spend the whole day and especially good for families. There is a library, gym and Good Earth coffee shop in the building so I imagine there is something to engage all age groups. We will be visiting again.

User

This centrally located multi sport facility is where I stop at as often as I can whenever I go through Canmore, often after a full day of local outdoor activities. I love the pool and that what I go for. I see the climbing wall is packed all the time, and that is to be expected in a mountain setting like Canmore. Been there lots and will be there many times in the future.

User

The climbing area is great! The kids absolutely loved it! You can pay admission in the morning, go for a climb, head out for a hike and then come back for another climb or a dip in the pool. My daughter also really enjoyed the library while we waited for her brother to finish his second climbing session.

Our family (of 8) came upon the hidden Canmore gem during our stay in Canmore. What an affordable family outing in a top notch facility but more importantly, it was so much fun for everyone! We were able to come and go to accommodate for meals or naps and the staff were wonderful! Highly recommend the climbing, the pool and the library!

User

Nice climbing gym with friendly staff, and great walls. Pool is nice and clean.

The only improuvement I would make is to offer slightly easier climbs (such as 1or 2) on the normal walls (meaning not self belay). Easiest I saw was one 5.8 and many beginners tend to be more scared with the self belay than with a friend belaying them. But no complaints other than this recomendation.

User

My kids loved this place and I was very impressed. A great and affordable place to bring your family. Thanks for the great time.

User

I took my kids to the pools we loved it spent 3 hrs playing the slide is wicked fast!!

User

I thought it was terrific!

I enjoyed the gym workouts, the rooms, cardio.

I enjoyed the scenery of the Rockies, and people rock climbing.

I enjoyed the cafe and got a orange , very friendly service.

I enjoyed the pool scenery.

Great facility! The gym, hot tub, steam room, pools are fantastic! Library is Terriffic! Great views!

User

Amazing center! Everything about it makes me happy :) staff is so friendly! Facility is always clean! I love how it's so green friendly with the not using much water and solar panels! Would recommend this place to everyone! Only thing I wish it had would be a gym for basketball or volleyball type of deal. Thanks Canmore! :)

User

Really like the facility. Clean and well maintained. The kids love the play area and floaters. Only frustration is that on the weekend the pool is exclusive to lane swimmers until 1PM! That means no kids in the pool all morning on both Saturday and Sunday. For a public facility that's pretty exclusive in my opinion.

User

It was very nice to be at Elevation Place. First due the possibility to break the gap created by the period of tourism that I was in. The policy for "day pass" is too friendly and it came exactly to my need. However no doubt it is a great site that stimulates the regular workout practice; I am really impressed about the facilities. This single day will be kept in my memory. I hope to have one further opportunity to be back and live once more, everything that I experienced in Canmore, Banff, Jasper and Calgary.

User

5 stars for the rock climbing, 0 for the swim facility.

The staff at the rock climbing were great with my 4.5 yr old son and he loved it. It wasn't too busy either so he climbed for well over an hour and tried the different areas of the wall.

The pool on the other hand was a huge disappointment and the main reason we came. It's the August long weekend and we wanted to swim somewhere with a waterslide. Even though it wasn't busy, it was around 6pm the change room was gross and full of hair. I guess there one of those places that does the end of day clean up only as they seemed short staffed at least on lifeguards anyways.... As they could only have so many areas to swim open at once such as the waterslide which was closed when we got there. I asked if it was closed the rest of the night and the lifeguard said no it could be opened and 10 minutes later she was sitting at the top monitoring the slide. However the huge disappointment was when I took my son up to go only to find out they have a height restriction of 42" which is advertised NO WHERE. Not on their website or general guidelines that are posted at the facility. My son was literally maybe 1/4" too short, I could have spiked his hair and he would have been tall enough.... Huge disappointment considering were from Edmonton and have taken him to the water park several times. You can't ride together so we had to go back down the stairs, he was so upset, this was literally the first waterslide he's never been able to go on and I've been taking him on the slides since he was 1.5 yrs. Even a bigger frustration was seeing other kids go up, in swim diapers, didn't see them get measured and they were going down the slide! My husband figures the lifeguard had it out for me but not sure why since I only asked if the slide was going to be closed for the night. She could have said yes, plus don't take it out on my son if you don't want to sit at the top of the slide and monitor the kids.

They also just really seemed generally overly strict at the pool, its swimming kids are supposed to have fun. I think these lifeguards were just mad they were working the long weekend with the folk fest being in town and all.

The little kiddie slide which is about 4-5 feet long, kid went down laying down and was in trouble right away. You can only go down on your bum with feet forward. Wow thought swimming was supposed to be fun! Apparently not at this place!

User

the place is a joke. pool is open 3 hours a day. most of the time we try and bring our 2 year old to swim either the pool is closed to her (you can go in the hot tub but your daughter can't) or the pool is open, but none of the splash park is working for kids. When i inquired, i was told "it is up to the lifeguard's discretion". I have been there with at least 20+ kids in the splash area, or when there is only 3-4 kids in the area, and the splash area is never turned on. Complete waste of a beautiful facility.

User

The swimming rules are punitive, punishing families who have spent the time making sure their children are water safe.
