Elite Dance Academy

✨Sam was born and raised in Calgary and has had a passion for dance her whole life. She began dancing at Elite Dance Academy at the age of 3 and started dancing competitively in all types of dance when she was six. Sam has remained actively involved with the studio since graduating.
Sam is a fully qualified and certified ADAPT Teacher of Dance after completing the three-year Teacher’s Training Program in the ADAPT syllabus. She believes that dance not only develops technique and confidence but it also develops kids into dedicated, hardworking people as well.
Her goal is to make a positive impact in the lives of others. She is excited to continue teaching at Elite, the very place that molded her into the person she is today, and can’t wait to share her love of dance with her students! ✨

We hope all of our little dancers are gearing up for a great holiday break with their families!

Some wisdom for your weekend... to build your child's flexibility, you should work daily on developing more stretch and flexibility. Creating and introducing a basic “at home” stretching program that your children can do once or twice a day is only going to benefit them in the long term.
You should also support building muscle strength along with stretching so that the amount of flexibility developed is supported with adequate strength to perform the skills required.

💜 Lisa graduated from the University of Calgary in 2015, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Dance with distinction, and the Faculty of Arts Silver Medallion in Dance.
Lisa is a certified Junior and Intermediate AcroDance teacher with her Advanced Level of Certification in progress. She is also a fully qualified and certified ADAPT Teacher of Dance.
Lisa is the Office Manager for the Acrobatique AcroDance Syllabus and holds Acrobatique Master Instructor Status. With Acrobatique..., she assists certifying teachers from across the globe build their own safe and progressive AcroDance Programs.
Lisa loves unlocking the potential within every dancer and seeing them overcome their physical and mental blocks. Acro is the method, but the true gift she hopes to give each student is confidence, resilience, and a healthy, functional body 💜

Reach for the sky!

💜 Sarah began dancing at Elite Dance Academy at the age of 4, with Miss Candice as her very first dance teacher. She continued dancing recreationally until the age of 10 when she joined the Elite competitive team. Sarah competed in jazz, tap, ballet, and lyrical up until she graduated high school.
Student teaching became a natural step for Sarah and quickly became something she was passionate about! She is currently in her first year of a Bachelor of Sciences at the University of Calgary with a major in Biological Sciences.
Sarah is honoured and thrilled to begin her teaching journey at Elite, a place that has felt like home for years, alongside such inspirational women that have shaped her into the person she is today 💜

It's finally here! The Alberta Ballet is performing the Nutcracker this weekend and next weekend and we are looking forward to watching this classic performance!

In the early years, Kyla received top awards as a competitor in diverse styles of dance within both Canada and the United States. Currently, Kyla is dancing professionally with the contemporary dance company, Trip the Light.
In her teaching career, Kyla’s love for ballet takes center stage leading her to complete numerous teaching exams in classical ballet. Continuing education is important to Kyla and she continues to extend her teaching qualifications by attending courses ...and workshops around the world.
She is proud to have had students continue on into professional careers in dancing, acting, singing and modeling, as well as attend prestigious schools including Joffrey Academy of Dance, Conteur Academy, Young Americans, Simon Fraser University, and George Brown College.
