Equi-Balance is owned by Anouk Roorda E. S. T. Anouk is a graduate of British Colombia College of Equine Therapy. She studied their for two years and is a certified Equine Sports Therapist. She has been in the Calgary horse community for over 12 years, competing in Show Jumping, Hunters, Dressage, and Eventing she is very knowledgeable in the demands that the Equine Athlete must undergo. She also has worked as a groom for a professional show jumper, allowing Anouk to learn in depth on how to train and maintain the performance horse.

Currently Equi-Balance is charging $60. 00 for an initial appointment which includes a in-depth analysis on how your horse is built and moves. In this analysis, Anouk discovers any weaknesses your horse may have, as well as his strengths. Following the assessment is the treatment phase. This includes deep tissue massage, myofascial release and basic chiropractics. If requested a dietary consult can also be done. Here the feed is assessed and catered to your horses requirements. After the initial appointment you can choose to put your horse on a monthly schedule for $40. 00. This discounted price must be pre-booked at the initial visit for within the following 30 days. If you do not wish to prebook then the next service will be $60. 00 for which ever date you choose.

Travel charges apply after 25 km at $0. 50 a kilometre.

Equi-Balance not only offers services for our equine friends, but our canine as well. For $30. 00 your pet receives an assessment, and treatment. Dogs receive a basic chiropractic session, as well as massage to help with injury, performance and general well being.

Why use massage in your horse or dogs training schedule?
Massage not only helps keep your horse limber and sound, but it can help your horses performance, can prevent injury and even help his emotional side. Just like humans horses get sore and tired from work. They need help maintaining muscle tone and attitude. Do you ever find that when you are stiff you are also grumpy? Well the same happens to our 4-legged friends. They sometimes need a little extra care to keep them happy and willing to keep performing.
