Katie is always learning and building on what she has already been practicing. From reading books to taking new courses she is staying up to date with what is new. She is also enrolled in the Vluggen Institute of Equine Osteopathy.

The newest addition to our equipment, helping horses preform to the best of their ability!! The magnetotherapy blanket made by Centurion. Reduce pain and inflammation, as well as relax the mind! The first horse we had it on started to drool! It can also be placed on the legs! And there is a hoof pad they can stand on which is great for abscesses (before and after they are found) and foot pain.
Today is like Christmas, except I know what my present is and I have to pay for it! Hopefully I will be able to post a picture of it in use tonight!
Have a new found love in the horse, The nervous system! Mr. Janek Vluggen is changing the way I view horses!

Found one of these little tools for removing bott fly eggs. It works surprisingly well, is cheap, and doesn't take hours.

Miss Daisy fell asleep today, but she felt much better when she woke up!
A couple benefits of regular exercise that maybe are not the first to pop into your mind, but very important! 1) Promotes circulation of bodily fluids, improving the function of the circulatory and lymphatic systems. This keeps them healthier and improves their energy. 2) Develops the respiratory system which increases the amount of oxygen available to the muscles. 3) Horses become more mentally relaxed.

Becoming a bandaging pro after one mare has an open tendon injury, and the other one just had a bone chip removed off of the metacarpal bone. In fact I might start selling bandaging supplies so I can get them at a discount!!! But so far everyone is healing nicely.

Something to think about this morning! Horses don't try and trick us, we need to pay attention to what they are telling us!
All wrapped and tucked in for the night! Fed her special healing formula that she tested for and clean wraps. Open tendon injuries are not fun! Documenting the injury though, and will post results!
