Esker Foundation

Amazing free contemporary art gallery. Highly recommended and one of my favorite things from my recent trip to calgary. They even offer free parking out back? What’s not to love? Furthermore the building itself was amazing and the staff was very friendly. While you’re there check out the furniture and lighting design stores in the same building. I can’t afford any of the stuff but it is amazing.

Would recommend to anyone trying to get into art galleries - that is, the practice of visiting and appreciating them.
Free, quality, and a good couple of hours with new exhibits every couple months.

Usually pretty interesting exhibits, all for free. Rotates fairly often, so you can check it out every couple months or so.

Arguably Calgary's best contemporary art space. Their curators put on great exhibits with artists that push the envelope. The social and cultural relevance of the Esker Foundation's shows makes they always worth going to.

Real chic, modern art gallery. Has some real great Canadian exhibits.

Remember to only use a pencil while in the gallery, no pen! The Esker Foundation is one of the few reasons to stay in this city. Free, and superb things always coming in and out of here.

Beautiful gallery with creative exhibits. The staff knowledgeable and very friendly.

I went to this exhibit in search of a few good art pieces to write a school paper on. I was not disappointed! They had a huge exhibit going on, with works by a few different artists. The staff were very friendly upon entering the building, they immediately offered to hang our jackets and gave us a map of the exhibit. And the space is open and bright, making it easy to experience the art!
