Etched In Marketing Description

Etched In Marketing specializes in providing low-cost, effective marketing services for small businesses and entrepreneurs. As an entrepreneur myself, I understand how much work goes into starting, running, and growing a small business. There are countless hours spent developing your expertise and shaping your vision into a reality, and that doesn't always leave time for everything else required to connect with customers. This is what led me to start Etched In Marketing, so that I could use my expertise and experience to help small businesses, like yours, grow and achieve their business goals.

Don't get me wrong, I love a good meme, especially one with a cute cat in it, but there is a right and wrong time for this type of content. While memes are very popular right now and can generate a lot of engagement, depending on your business, brand, and content strategy they may not be the right fit for your feed. Before posting be sure to ask yourself if the content matches with who you are, and what you are trying to convey about your business online.

A unique selling point is something that differentiates your business from competitors. Essentially, what do you have or offer that others don't? Your unique selling point is why customers will choose you over other options out there. It is important not only that you identify what your unique selling point is, but that you communicate it to your audience so that they know will know it too.

We spend a lot of time creating content to connect with our audience online. Why not put in just a little bit more time and effort to get more out of what we create? I'm talking about repurposing the content you've already created to expand your reach, connect with new readers and reinforce your message.
- Types of content to repurpose - 1) Evergreen content: content that is always relevant no matter how much time has passed 2) Popular content: content that generated strong ...engagement and/or reach with your audience 3) Content you can build on: content that you can easily expand on to add more value
- Easy ways to start repurposing your content - 1) Rework content to share on different platforms 2) Rework the format of your content 3) Rework and combine content to create something new 4) Repost old content with added insight based on audience feedback or questions ... Having a content calendar is key to implementing a successful social media strategy. By looking ahead and mapping out your posts you'll be able to ensure you have time to capture or compose the content you plan on sharing, and you'll be able to schedule posts ahead of time (when appropriate to do so). At the same time, don't get too stuck in your plan, allow yourself the flexibility to make adjustments for new things that come up and to share what is currently happening with your business or brand.⠀

Basically every business out there now has (or should think about starting) a Facebook page. But having a page, and having a great page are two different things. Here are a few quick tips to make sure your page is covering the basics: 1) Take a look at your tabs (right side menu) and make sure they are all useful for your page and in the right order for what you want to highlight. If not, then you can edit them in your settings. 2) Make sure all of your about tab information ...is filled in - especially your contact and category information. 4) Make sure you have a high quality (and on brand) profile and banner image. Bonus: Consider updating your banner image on a regular basis to reflect what is currently going on with your business. 5) Pay attention to your page. Facebook is constantly evolving with means many page features are as well, be sure to check in on your setup regularly and make edits as needed.

As you may have seen, this past weekend I had the opportunity to attend the iMedia Social Media Conference here in Edmonton. And while there were many great speakers and presentations the one that really got me thinking was "Strategy is Dead" with Rob Jennings of Starburst Creative.
The primary focus of this presentation was that in the age of digital, we are now able to advertise anytime we want and change it anytime we want. And that we need to adapt the way we work to matc...h and take advantage of the digital landscape. Rather than develop overly complex, sometimes long-term, strategies based on mountains of research, we should be working more within a framework that uses smaller (2-4 week) intervals and constant feedback to adapt as we go. Instead of planning and then executing with no flexibility we could spend one interval planning for the next, and use our advertising as research to tell us what is working and how we can better connect with our audience.
This is something I am still thinking through, but I already love the concept. In a time when everyone wants what they want, when they want it - why haven't we, as marketers, adjusted to give them that. While I have not yet fully figured out how to put this into practice for my clients, it is certainly something I will continue to work on.

Facebook has changed a lot in the past couple of year, and while it may no longer be your personal favourite with 1.13 billion active users on Facebook, your business should have a Facebook Page. If you need help getting started, optimizing your page, or developing a quality content strategy - don't hesitate to get in touch.

Another reminder to make sure you are using proper etiquette when communicating online. Plus this one is in a fun little video, which makes it even more sharable.
