This is a long review but I think it's worth talking about my experience since it was so special.

First off the interiors were much more elegant than I would have expected. With plush, soft carpets, velvet chairs and beautiful warm chandelier lighting, it felt timeless and right immediately. It had a little bit of a Wes Anderson nostalgia to it that I loved.

I worked with Rhonda who was around my age (mid-late 20s). She was so kind and thoughtful. This first dress she picked for me based on my photos of what I liked didn't immediately look like anything special so she let me go rogue and just pick my own off the rack while casually running more by me without any pressure. I tried on several dresses and Rhonda was patient, supportive and made me feel like I was with a friend. She didn't push me to buy, gave me her honest opinion and was really conscious and understanding of my budget. Turns out the first dress she pulled was the one! Canadian made and exactly right for what I was looking for. It had a few unexpected things that made it even better then what I had originally gone in looking for. Somehow she knew!

I went to Cameo and Cufflinks after to see what else there may be and it was a cold, unhelpful experience where they tried to sell me a bridesmaid dress in Ivory. No comparison whatsoever.

I ended up going back to Ethos that day and buying my dress (the first pulled) it felt like I was among family. They even threw in a really amazing present for me based on a story I had told them along with a Tiffany color tray full of cookies and champagne. So special, so much love for those hard working ladies who helped me. Thanks Rhonda!!! <3

The ladies at Ethos, are the absolute best. Hands down. I’m getting married this August, and I went to several bridal stores before theirs, and the experience at Ethos was amazing in comparison.

They all know what they’re talking about when it comes to making a bride look their best. I was talked in to trying on a dress I thought I was dead set against, and immediately fell in love. I never would have pictured myself

in it, but it’s like my dress was made for me.

When I went for my first fitting, and the dress didn’t fit exactly how I needed it to, they got on top of it right away and did everything possible to make it look and fit perfectly and make me comfortable.

Not only did I get my dress here, but I also got all my accessories and jewelry! It’s amazing that the ladies there don’t work on commission, so not only was I not pressured into buying a dress, but they also gave me an AMAZING deal on my gown and accessories. They did their best to save me a ton of money and make sure I was within my budget.

I would recommend Ethos to any bride or anyone in need of a gown for an event! I love all the women who work here, they do a phenomenal job and genuinely care about their customers.

The dress they helped me find is a work of art and I was impressed with ethos direct connection to the designer who also made this experience extra special. Thank you Ethos for helping me find the dress of my dreams and making every step of the way perfect! I came into Ethos in tears after a not-so-great experience at another bridal shop, and the moment I stepped into their doors I knew I was in great hands! Tara helped me find my dress, and waited with me until my mom was able to come and say yes to the dress! The dress had to be rushed in, and Tara took care of all of that including keeping me updated and easing my worries when the date was coming close. I must say that all the ladies at Ethos are amazing, always greeting you with a smile! Inga, the lady who does alterations, is very professional and friendly. Overall, wonderful experience, and I highly recommend this shop for all brides!

My experience this far has been great! Sheila has been my consultant from the beginning and she is amazing. Even when mistakes are made she jumped right is to help and ensure I was always happy!

My experience at Ethos was been nothing but amazing. I tried on plenty of dresses and I never felt rushed or like an inconvenience. Lori was so helpful and won over the tough crowd that I brought with me right away! She was so knowledgable and made sure that I found a dress that I absolutely loved. She listened to me and made sure that it was what I wanted and at no point was pushy about anything. I said ‘yes to the dress’ thanks to Lori and Ethos Bridal. Lori listened to what I was wanting for style and she found the one. It was a brand new gown which she pulled from the back just for me to try. She went above and beyond for me as well my guests. It was a pretty emotional time for us, sad and happy. Lori was kind and understanding. I ended up wanting to make some alterations to the dress. Lori made sure it was exactly what I wanted along with help from the manager and assistant manager. I can’t wait to see my dress in 8 months!

It has stunning dresses (a wide variety to choose from), it is very spacious, well lit, and has beautiful private areas to try on dresses. On my initial try on date, Marissa was great. She pulled some very beautiful dresses for me to try on and helped me to step out of my comfort zone! On my retry appointment, I had Rhonda and Jamie helping me out- they where both so wonderful! Haya (Ethos owner) also came to help out and spent majority of the appointment with us, sharing stories of her 47 years at Ethos and making the decision to say ‘yes to the dress’ even easier! They all truly made me feel so special, the champagne and chocolates were also a nice touch! Thank you so much Marissa, Rhonda, Jamie, and Haya!

I said yes to my dream dress last week at Ethos, and I couldn't be more excited! I would give Rhonda and the rest of the Ethos group a 10 out of ten if I could� thank you so much for making my day so amazing!

I had an amazing experience at Ethos. Lori, (the lady who helped me find my dream dress) was an absolute gem! She worked hard to help me find the perfect dress and ensure that every aspect of the dress worked perfectly for me. Lori made the experience fun and all of the friends and family who accompanied me enjoyed themselves as well! All of the ladies I interacted with at Ethos were warm and welcoming and truly made me feel special. Thank you so much!!!

I had an amazing appointment at Ethos! Lori was my consultant and was beyond helpful. If it wasn't for Lori I would not have found my dress! She listened to what I was looking for, but also chose dresses for me to try on that were outside of what I thought I was looking for. I ended up buying the most beautiful dress that I probably wouldn't have looked twice at on the hanger. Lori made the whole experience a beautiful one and she even teared up along side of my mom and myself as I said "yes to the dress" The whole Ethos team was so friendly!

My niece bought her dress Jan 29. Paid extra for rush delivery, which she was told would be on Apr. 20.

She has still not received her dress - in fact, as of Wednesday May 2, the dress hasn’t EVEN BEEN SHIPPED YET!

Her grad is May 12 & alterations will need to be done.

No excuse for a three month wait!



EDIT: I am editing my rating at the request of my niece, who received her altered dress yesterday. She feels that Ethos came through for her & was pleased they refunded some money.

I think this is an opportunity for Ethos to review their communication practices with their customers, & also to review the delivery problems with their suppliers.

Not impressed from my experience here. Was shopping for a dress and felt very pressured into purchasing one that I thought was just OK. I was then pushed even more that If I bought it they would discount me 700$ and I had to make up my mind that day. I'm glad I passed and didn't buy into this sales tactic.



Another complaint that I have is for my friend who did purchase a dress here, and was told that they could make certain alterations at the time of her purchase, to being told now they cannot do those alterations. The ONLY reason she agreed to purchase her dress was because she was assured that the issue could be fixed and now it can't.

Not only that but upon going in for her alterations she was told all money was to be paid up front before they will touch her dress, in which this should have been discussed prior to the appointment. So another on the spot pressure tactic. I wish she would have shopped around because I know she is being overcharged for her alterations. From one business owner to another, I find this business very unprofessional, very pushy and I can definitely tell your sales agents are commission workers with their sales tactics they choose. It feels like a used car sales lot

Treated my mother terribly and told her to stop asking for a dress I wanted to try on. I had no idea what I wanted so they put me in a total of 4 dresses in two different styles. I was made to feel very over weight when I’m not and made me very self conscious which is NOT how you are supposed to make the bride feel. I am in school out of town with family from out of town and we all came together for this special day and I was told that since my wedding isn’t until 2020 that I shouldn’t bother buying a dress yet when I wanted to get this out of the way to focus on school and not worry about having to take time off. They kicked us out of our appointment before it ended saying there was a larger group coming in and they needed space. I came out feeling discouraged fat and like crying. To make matters even worse I just received a call from the manager saying it was because I booked a regular appointment and that is why I didn’t get better treatment. Unbelievable!!!!!!!! I looked on the website again and there is nothing about a “vip” appointment or anything of the sort!!!!! I’m glad I bought my gorgeous dress at blissful brides!

These people should not be in the wedding business!!!!! Just awful

My daughter's experience was terrible. They told her they were ordering her chosen dress in a longer length and one size up. Four months later when she had heard nothing she called and was told her dress was in. Well, perhaps a call from them would have been a good business practice. The dress is the same one she tried on in the smaller size and shorter length. This is nothing less than fraud in my opinion. I will never recommend this business to anyone and am sorry to say this as I had always thought this was a well established Calgary business who took pride in their work. Wish I could give no stars.

I went to Ethos after another boutique where I picked out my dress, but didn't purchase yet because I wanted to honour my appointment and give them a chance. They made it very easy to not fall in love with a dress at Ethos! As soon as I walked in I was given an ongoing guilt trip because my wedding is 'only' 8 months away. Funny because the 5 other stores I went to said I have plenty of time and it's standard 4-5 months for a dress. I realized this is either Ethos' sales tactic to sell dresses off the rack, as I can see another reviewer did, pay the $200 she mentioned a lot for a rush order, or it's because their dresses are ordered from China. I say this because the dresses I was given to try on were either falling apart, itchy, or one even gave me a rash! I was never asked my budget, theme, style or anything. I was given a form to fill out but it was ripped out of my hand as soon as they got my name and address and before I could enter style and theme. I was given a bunch of horrible dresses that I had no idea where the style came from, and my party even laughed at openly. Speaking of my crew, they had to sit in this hallway area with constant traffic walking in between me and them, it was so impersonal. The final straw was when the sales lady tried desperately to sell me this horrid dress off the rack since I was 'cutting it close' stating that it fit me perfectly! It was about 2 sizes too big and looked like I was wearing a garbage bag! My mom was so insulted she left the shop before I could even get out of the dress! Of the 6 boutiques I visited Ethos is the only one I had a bad experience in. I thought it would be the fanciest shop but it was definitely the tackiest. It belongs in Eau Clare instead of 17th. I highly recommend Pearl & Dot and the Bridal Boutique instead.

First off the interiors were much more elegant than I would have expected. With plush, soft carpets, velvet chairs and beautiful warm chandelier lighting, it felt timeless and right immediately. It had a little bit of a Wes Anderson nostalgia to it that I loved.

I worked with Rhonda who was around my age (mid-late 20s). She was so kind and thoughtful. This first dress she picked for me based on my photos of what I liked didn't immediately look like anything special so she let me go rogue and just pick my own off the rack while casually running more by me without any pressure. I tried on several dresses and Rhonda was patient, supportive and made me feel like I was with a friend. She didn't push me to buy, gave me her honest opinion and was really conscious and understanding of my budget. Turns out the first dress she pulled was the one! Canadian made and exactly right for what I was looking for. It had a few unexpected things that made it even better then what I had originally gone in looking for. Somehow she knew!

I went to Cameo and Cufflinks after to see what else there may be and it was a cold, unhelpful experience where they tried to sell me a bridesmaid dress in Ivory. No comparison whatsoever.

I ended up going back to Ethos that day and buying my dress (the first pulled) it felt like I was among family. They even threw in a really amazing present for me based on a story I had told them along with a Tiffany color tray full of cookies and champagne. So special, so much love for those hard working ladies who helped me. Thanks Rhonda!!! <3

The ladies at Ethos, are the absolute best. Hands down. I’m getting married this August, and I went to several bridal stores before theirs, and the experience at Ethos was amazing in comparison.

They all know what they’re talking about when it comes to making a bride look their best. I was talked in to trying on a dress I thought I was dead set against, and immediately fell in love. I never would have pictured myself

in it, but it’s like my dress was made for me.

When I went for my first fitting, and the dress didn’t fit exactly how I needed it to, they got on top of it right away and did everything possible to make it look and fit perfectly and make me comfortable.

Not only did I get my dress here, but I also got all my accessories and jewelry! It’s amazing that the ladies there don’t work on commission, so not only was I not pressured into buying a dress, but they also gave me an AMAZING deal on my gown and accessories. They did their best to save me a ton of money and make sure I was within my budget.

I would recommend Ethos to any bride or anyone in need of a gown for an event! I love all the women who work here, they do a phenomenal job and genuinely care about their customers.

I came into Ethos in tears after a not-so-great experience at another bridal shop, and the moment I stepped into their doors I knew I was in great hands! Tara helped me find my dress, and waited with me until my mom was able to come and say yes to the dress! The dress had to be rushed in, and Tara took care of all of that including keeping me updated and easing my worries when the date was coming close. I must say that all the ladies at Ethos are amazing, always greeting you with a smile! Inga, the lady who does alterations, is very professional and friendly. Overall, wonderful experience, and I highly recommend this shop for all brides!

It was a brand new gown which she pulled from the back just for me to try. She went above and beyond for me as well my guests. It was a pretty emotional time for us, sad and happy. Lori was kind and understanding. I ended up wanting to make some alterations to the dress. Lori made sure it was exactly what I wanted along with help from the manager and assistant manager. I can’t wait to see my dress in 8 months!

She catered not only to my every request but also made all 5 of the other women in my group feel included by allowing them to choose dresses they wanted to see me in and asking their opinions. When I finally said yes, all the other ladies in the shop gathered around to celebrate with us, and I truly felt like a princess. I would give Rhonda and the rest of the Ethos group a 10 out of ten if I could� thank you so much for making my day so amazing!

She listened to what I was looking for, but also chose dresses for me to try on that were outside of what I thought I was looking for. Lori made the whole experience a beautiful one and she even teared up along side of my mom and myself as I said "yes to the dress" The whole Ethos team was so friendly!

My niece bought her dress Jan 29. Paid extra for rush delivery, which she was told would be on Apr. 20.

She has still not received her dress - in fact, as of Wednesday May 2, the dress hasn’t EVEN BEEN SHIPPED YET!

Her grad is May 12 & alterations will need to be done.

No excuse for a three month wait!



EDIT: I am editing my rating at the request of my niece, who received her altered dress yesterday. She feels that Ethos came through for her & was pleased they refunded some money.

I think this is an opportunity for Ethos to review their communication practices with their customers, & also to review the delivery problems with their suppliers.

Not impressed from my experience here. Was shopping for a dress and felt very pressured into purchasing one that I thought was just OK. I was then pushed even more that If I bought it they would discount me 700$ and I had to make up my mind that day. I'm glad I passed and didn't buy into this sales tactic.



Another complaint that I have is for my friend who did purchase a dress here, and was told that they could make certain alterations at the time of her purchase, to being told now they cannot do those alterations. The ONLY reason she agreed to purchase her dress was because she was assured that the issue could be fixed and now it can't.

Not only that but upon going in for her alterations she was told all money was to be paid up front before they will touch her dress, in which this should have been discussed prior to the appointment. So another on the spot pressure tactic. I wish she would have shopped around because I know she is being overcharged for her alterations. From one business owner to another, I find this business very unprofessional, very pushy and I can definitely tell your sales agents are commission workers with their sales tactics they choose. It feels like a used car sales lot

Treated my mother terribly and told her to stop asking for a dress I wanted to try on. I had no idea what I wanted so they put me in a total of 4 dresses in two different styles. I was made to feel very over weight when I’m not and made me very self conscious which is NOT how you are supposed to make the bride feel. I am in school out of town with family from out of town and we all came together for this special day and I was told that since my wedding isn’t until 2020 that I shouldn’t bother buying a dress yet when I wanted to get this out of the way to focus on school and not worry about having to take time off. They kicked us out of our appointment before it ended saying there was a larger group coming in and they needed space. I came out feeling discouraged fat and like crying. To make matters even worse I just received a call from the manager saying it was because I booked a regular appointment and that is why I didn’t get better treatment. Unbelievable!!!!!!!! I looked on the website again and there is nothing about a “vip” appointment or anything of the sort!!!!! I’m glad I bought my gorgeous dress at blissful brides!

These people should not be in the wedding business!!!!! Just awful

My daughter's experience was terrible. They told her they were ordering her chosen dress in a longer length and one size up. Four months later when she had heard nothing she called and was told her dress was in. Well, perhaps a call from them would have been a good business practice. The dress is the same one she tried on in the smaller size and shorter length. This is nothing less than fraud in my opinion. I will never recommend this business to anyone and am sorry to say this as I had always thought this was a well established Calgary business who took pride in their work. Wish I could give no stars.

I went to Ethos after another boutique where I picked out my dress, but didn't purchase yet because I wanted to honour my appointment and give them a chance. They made it very easy to not fall in love with a dress at Ethos! As soon as I walked in I was given an ongoing guilt trip because my wedding is 'only' 8 months away. Funny because the 5 other stores I went to said I have plenty of time and it's standard 4-5 months for a dress. I realized this is either Ethos' sales tactic to sell dresses off the rack, as I can see another reviewer did, pay the $200 she mentioned a lot for a rush order, or it's because their dresses are ordered from China. I say this because the dresses I was given to try on were either falling apart, itchy, or one even gave me a rash! I was never asked my budget, theme, style or anything. I was given a form to fill out but it was ripped out of my hand as soon as they got my name and address and before I could enter style and theme. I was given a bunch of horrible dresses that I had no idea where the style came from, and my party even laughed at openly. Speaking of my crew, they had to sit in this hallway area with constant traffic walking in between me and them, it was so impersonal. The final straw was when the sales lady tried desperately to sell me this horrid dress off the rack since I was 'cutting it close' stating that it fit me perfectly! It was about 2 sizes too big and looked like I was wearing a garbage bag! My mom was so insulted she left the shop before I could even get out of the dress! Of the 6 boutiques I visited Ethos is the only one I had a bad experience in. I thought it would be the fanciest shop but it was definitely the tackiest. It belongs in Eau Clare instead of 17th. I highly recommend Pearl & Dot and the Bridal Boutique instead.
