Evolutionary Wellness Centre is a Home based business providing Therapeutic Massage, Dynamic Cupping Massage, General Swedish Massage and Bowen Therapy.

What is Bowen?
Bowen is a unique modality that uses neuromuscular repatterning which works primarily through the nervous system, affecting both structural and energetic levels. This means that Bowen is a suitable therapy for complaints both physical and emotional, often resulting in profound levels of healing.
For a client to gain full benefits from the Bowen Technique they must commit to three treatments spaced approximately 7 days apart. This gives me time to address the whole body and allows for the work to be integrated between each visit. It is important that no other modalities (Chiropractic, Massage, etc. ) are used in that time as they can interrupt the body's healing process. After those first three visits, maintenance visits can be booked at the client's discretion. Always remember to avoid other modalities for 5-7 days on either side of a Bowen treatment.

What happens during a treatment?
An initial visit involves a small amount of intake paper work and will be followed by a short discussion about your unique history and concerns. If appropriate, various physical assessments to evaluate your physical level of function are performed.
It is typical easier for me to work on skin, so it is appropriate to wear undergarments during treatment. Should you be more comfortable remaining fully clothed, lose cotton clothing is acceptable. Whatever you decide, appropriate draping techniques will be used.
The actual Bowen session involves a series of subtle movements being done at various locations on the body, with wait times in between. The wait times are an integral part of the session as they allow your body to integrate the work being done. A typical session will last approximately 60 minutes.

Bowen Therapy is covered under a health spending account and receipts will be provided. It is important to remember that this modality is a unique and worthwhile investment in your health.
