Over the past 10 years, we've raised over $325 000 for this amazing organization. Our staff, trades, suppliers, and other partners will be participating in either a 5km walk or 10km run to help fundraise for the event.

What a great experience over all with Excel from start to finish of our build.

From the moment we walked into the office the girls were very kind and welcoming. They were able to answer all of our questions as this was our first time building. We were very confident that this is who we wanted to build our home.



Everyone was very accomodating, anytime we wanted to check out the progress during construction they happily let us do so.



Again during our walk throughs all of our concerns were addressed and taken care of promptly.

If there was anything we needed they are very quick to get back to you.

The communication was a great with everyone and they are still checking in with us to make sure everything is being taken care of.



Excel's contractors definitely went over and above even after we moved in as we made a few damages while moving our belongings. They fixed all of our little boo boos without hesitation, which we greatly appreciated along with a few little adjustments around the house we asked of them (minor).



We were welcomed with a nice little welcome bag which was lovely! Thanks guys.



I highly recommend Excel if anyone is interested in a new build.



We love our new home!

We purchased our home from Doug when he was still at the mahogany location, he was truly the best guy for us! He was knowledgeable, funny, and not pushy at all! He helped us the whole way through and always went out of his way no matter what time I got ahold of him or if he was on a day off! Above and beyond expectations! Have had our fair share of deficiencies with the home, but Alana from the construction side has been nothing but awesome to dealexcel with, always following up and making sure everything get dealt with to our satisfaction! We love our new home, we loved the Excel team and would suggest buying with Excel to anyone looking to build!



My only recommendations to Excel would be a bit more attention to detail prior to possession would make the amount of issues that need to be addressed much smaller, and also looking into upgrading their welcome home package as other builders are much more on top of giving a little extra back to the buyer!

Last summer, I began visiting different communities and showhomes around the Cochrane area and, after a couple of weeks, stumbled upon Heartland and the wonderful Excel Homes team based there. I immediately felt welcomed and at ease and knew then that I had found my new home. After viewing lots of show homes and floorplans from a multitude of different Cochrane-area builders, I truly feel that Excel offers a superior product designed with living and functionality in mind, and all at a very competitive price point.



This said, what really set my experience with Excel Homes apart were the people with whom I lived the trials and tribulations, stresses and joys and ups and downs of purchasing and moving into your first property. Charla and her team in Heartland (especially Marika at the time) were beyond accommodating. Their patience, understanding, flexibility and openness were outstanding and truly made an impact on me. Given that this was my first experience with a home builder, I naturally had many, many questions and wanted to visit my new home at every available opportunity. Charla and Marika were more than willing to humour my enthusiasm, always quick to answer emails or be the friendly voice at the end of the phone and truly seemed to share in my excitement, despite being extremely busy. Charla takes a personal interest in all of her customers and her willingness to listen, guide and help each person to get what they really want out of their house at the right price was evident. My journey was not perfect and there were slight issues that arose during the building of my home (which are to be expected when undertaking such a project). Excel's (and in particular Michelle Rogers') response to my concerns turned a possible negative experience into an extremely positive one. She not only recovered the situation and got me once again excited for my new home but convinced me even more that I had made the right choice in Excel Homes.



Possession was smooth and any minor hiccups that have come to my attention in the meantime have been dealt with in an extremely prompt, professional manner. I cannot speak highly enough of Josip, Terrence and the team for their dedication and rapid responses to any and all communication.



Overall, from beginning to end, Excel have proven to be a team of individuals who put the person in front of them ahead of anything else and that is a business that I can get behind. I would recommend visiting one of their presentation centres in your quest to find your forever home. The build quality is fantastic and draws comments from anyone who visits. Charla and the team in Heartland are true professionals and I am so grateful for their assistance in bringing my home to life.

I recently purchased an Excel home in the community of Carrington and had the pleasure of working with both Kristen and Tarek. We have now been in our new home for 4 months and wanted to wait until now to review so we could comment on all aspects of our new home experience.



As a home buyer, I had a lot of questions and was surprised by Tarek and Kristen’s level of willingness to help. Moreover, I really appreciate the genuine advice on upgrades that they provided us. They were helpful in guiding us through the selection of lots, interior design and choices etc.



After the purchase, Kristen provided us with weekly updates on the progression of our new home, including pictures. I was really impressed with the communication provided. During the construction phase, I received several detailed walkthroughs provided by Kristen and the Site Managers. In the end, the house was built ahead of schedule and possession was organized in a timely manner.



After possession, there were some very minor deficiencies and the warranty manager Don was very helpful in fixing all issues that came up over the last 4 months.



Throughout this whole process, I probably asked over a thousand questions and Excel Homes responded each of them in a very professional manner. Overall, we have had nothing but a great experience in dealing with the Carrington Excel team and I would definitely recommend Excel Homes to my friends and family.

From the moment my husband and I walked into the Mahogany excel show home we were provide with the attention and care necessary to calm our nerves on such a big purchase! Doug and Faryn were friendly, thorough and did not pressure us to make a decision. I love that you can build your own home right at the show home, you don't need to make any other appointments or wait longer for your home to be built. Other companies we spoke to said 10-12 months, we signed for our house in June and just moved in on Dec.1. I appreciated that weekly updates from Doug that added to our excitement of our new home.



Jerry did our possession walk through and he was honest, informative and provided me with some good tips on how to care for our home. He definitely didn't miss anything and even though it was overwhelming he made sure that we knew that we had the contact information for excel or we could even flag down an excel employee while they were working on the street.



So far we are very pleased with our new home and we appreciate that we were treated like valued clients since day 1 and would definitely purchase with excel again if we ever move :)

As first time home buyers, Charla and the sales team in Cochrane kept us informed throughout the process and made sure we were comfortable. They were quick to answer any of our questions. Terrance is also very accommodating as the customer care warranty specialist. We're very happy with our home and continue to feel the support of the Excel team.

Tried to look at the chinook gate show homes today, was assaulted by MASSIVE amounts of scented air fresheners in every one, to the point that we just glanced around and left to view other homes. I would not consider myself someone who is normally sensitive to strong perfumes, but these gave me an almost instant headache.

I am posting a vedio of my driveway, with lots damaged holes on the top, a NEW house built 11 months ago. A staff from Excel Home came for the 11 months warranty assessment this morning, after he seeing my driveway, he said “ this is your problem not to maintain your house properly, Not Excel Homes problems”(sounds like they are not responseble to do any furture works after the selling). I said “ if you come and say everything is my problem, and Excel Home can do nothing, why we have to go through the warranty accessment??” . Then, the Excel Home staff said” ok, you refused to do the accessment”, Then he left.....This is how "well" the Excel Homes Customer Services is.

Worst Customer Services.

Since I have chosen Excel Homes as My builder I have experienced stubborn behaviour from them whether its sales team or warranty services.

While building the house they choose lowest quality goods, cheapest brands.

If you ask them to change something from their proposal they simply refuse not even ready to negotiate.

After possession there come customer care services, you have to chase them a lot to get a reply, they pretend that they are present for us, in actual they don't even care what's customer is requesting.

I'm writing this based on my 01-year experience with them which is worst & I regret to chose them.

If anyone is looking to buy a new house I would suggest please don't choose them as your builder.

Our home was built by Excel in 1998. The basement floor and walls were never properly sealed together and we have had water issues ever since. We installed a sump pump but the water just kept seeping in through the joint between basement floor and walls. It has cost us thousands of dollars to fix the problem, and the water keeps finding a way in.

Our home is in a great new community but we have had one consistent issue. Our pump. It goes off ten times a day, sometimes more. And they won’t do anything to investigate it or fix it. No one on our street has this problem and the people we know throughout the community don’t have this issue either. It floods the area between our home and the next and has killed the grass there. Last summer the puddle grew algae. The grading is wrong. Something is wrong. The huge extension they put on it goes from the side of our home past the front door. OVER A HILL. They think this is fine.



My husband is on the phone with their Warranty Manager right now (after waiting for a returned call for a week) and the Manager is laughing at how upset my husband is.



Dealing with Excel has been like pulling teeth. On day 4 of living here we had water from the en suit pouring through our living room ceiling. The drain wasn’t sealed. And a few days later we noticed a crack in the back of the tub. They never built supports under the tub. They didn’t want to fix it. It took weeks. Not impressed.



There’s never a perfectly built home. We are not unrealistic people but we do not appreciate being laughed at and we do not appreciate being told that “everything is fine” when we know it’s not. We shouldn’t have to ask for service multiple time. It should just be done. That’s what the Warranties are for. The customer service is horrendous and causes way more stress than it should.

My family and I moved into our new Halton house in Walden in August and I was very satisfied with the finish. Unfortunately, Day one, I've already saw crack lines already in my cement driveway and inside of my garage. I emailed Randy, Walden Home Inspection Specialist, and got a reply stating it is too soon to do anything, but later on during the 6 months inspection, Randy says there is nothing he can do for the crack lines. I was like WTF?!? What's the point of buying a new home? I checked with my neighbors and their driveways seem to be perfect. In December, during the cold freeze, there was ice built-up (from the condensate) on the duct down in the basement, i guess they didn't put enough insulation on my duct. Guess what happens when it got warm? Another issue is the gap forming between the drywall and the stair baseboard. Randy fixed one side and now a gap is forming on the other side. I also seeing a crack on the foundation as well. I am hoping things would get sort out in our 12 months inspection. Unless everything is fixed, I wouldn't recommend Excel Homes to any of my friends or my family members.

Jerry did our possession walk through and he was honest, informative and provided me with some good tips on how to care for our home. He definitely didn't miss anything and even though it was overwhelming he made sure that we knew that we had the contact information for excel or we could even flag down an excel employee while they were working on the street.



So far we are very pleased with our new home and we appreciate that we were treated like valued clients since day 1 and would definitely purchase with excel again if we ever move :)

As first time home buyers, Charla and the sales team in Cochrane kept us informed throughout the process and made sure we were comfortable. They were quick to answer any of our questions. Terrance is also very accommodating as the customer care warranty specialist. We're very happy with our home and continue to feel the support of the Excel team.

Tried to look at the chinook gate show homes today, was assaulted by MASSIVE amounts of scented air fresheners in every one, to the point that we just glanced around and left to view other homes. I would not consider myself someone who is normally sensitive to strong perfumes, but these gave me an almost instant headache.

I am posting a vedio of my driveway, with lots damaged holes on the top, a NEW house built 11 months ago. A staff from Excel Home came for the 11 months warranty assessment this morning, after he seeing my driveway, he said “ this is your problem not to maintain your house properly, Not Excel Homes problems”(sounds like they are not responseble to do any furture works after the selling). I said “ if you come and say everything is my problem, and Excel Home can do nothing, why we have to go through the warranty accessment??” . Then, the Excel Home staff said” ok, you refused to do the accessment”, Then he left.....This is how "well" the Excel Homes Customer Services is.

Worst Customer Services.

Since I have chosen Excel Homes as My builder I have experienced stubborn behaviour from them whether its sales team or warranty services.

While building the house they choose lowest quality goods, cheapest brands.

If you ask them to change something from their proposal they simply refuse not even ready to negotiate.

After possession there come customer care services, you have to chase them a lot to get a reply, they pretend that they are present for us, in actual they don't even care what's customer is requesting.

I'm writing this based on my 01-year experience with them which is worst & I regret to chose them.

If anyone is looking to buy a new house I would suggest please don't choose them as your builder.

Our home was built by Excel in 1998. The basement floor and walls were never properly sealed together and we have had water issues ever since. We installed a sump pump but the water just kept seeping in through the joint between basement floor and walls. It has cost us thousands of dollars to fix the problem, and the water keeps finding a way in.

Our home is in a great new community but we have had one consistent issue. Our pump. It goes off ten times a day, sometimes more. And they won’t do anything to investigate it or fix it. No one on our street has this problem and the people we know throughout the community don’t have this issue either. It floods the area between our home and the next and has killed the grass there. Last summer the puddle grew algae. The grading is wrong. Something is wrong. The huge extension they put on it goes from the side of our home past the front door. OVER A HILL. They think this is fine.



My husband is on the phone with their Warranty Manager right now (after waiting for a returned call for a week) and the Manager is laughing at how upset my husband is.



Dealing with Excel has been like pulling teeth. On day 4 of living here we had water from the en suit pouring through our living room ceiling. The drain wasn’t sealed. And a few days later we noticed a crack in the back of the tub. They never built supports under the tub. They didn’t want to fix it. It took weeks. Not impressed.



There’s never a perfectly built home. We are not unrealistic people but we do not appreciate being laughed at and we do not appreciate being told that “everything is fine” when we know it’s not. We shouldn’t have to ask for service multiple time. It should just be done. That’s what the Warranties are for. The customer service is horrendous and causes way more stress than it should.

My family and I moved into our new Halton house in Walden in August and I was very satisfied with the finish. Unfortunately, Day one, I've already saw crack lines already in my cement driveway and inside of my garage. I emailed Randy, Walden Home Inspection Specialist, and got a reply stating it is too soon to do anything, but later on during the 6 months inspection, Randy says there is nothing he can do for the crack lines. I was like WTF?!? What's the point of buying a new home? I checked with my neighbors and their driveways seem to be perfect. In December, during the cold freeze, there was ice built-up (from the condensate) on the duct down in the basement, i guess they didn't put enough insulation on my duct. Guess what happens when it got warm? Another issue is the gap forming between the drywall and the stair baseboard. Randy fixed one side and now a gap is forming on the other side. I also seeing a crack on the foundation as well. I am hoping things would get sort out in our 12 months inspection. Unless everything is fixed, I wouldn't recommend Excel Homes to any of my friends or my family members.
