The hotel is so gorgeous and historical! It's built a century ago and I even heard there are ghost stories - the dancing bride (I didn't spot one!) And all the staff were very friendly. I recommend this place if it's your first time visiting Banff. It's located in downtown Banff and is very convenient! It has also a great view of the mountains!

Always a great stay at the Banff Springs Hotel and even just to go in and visit. The restaurants have wonderful food. High tea is a wonderful treat and after a day of exploring, going to the rundle lounge for a beverage and food (non alcoholic beverages just as lovely as the cocktails) tops off the day perfectly. Rooms are cozy and I can honestly say I've never had a bad view from any room I've had. You might not get the valley view, but in my opinion the side that looks down on the roundabout is just as beautiful. Service is always friendly and tend to go the extra mile to make your stay special.

Staff are very nice and friendly, only one registration staff is not that welcoming, did not provide all the information I need to know. Self parking is $29/day for hotel guest, $40 for public, and you also need to walk a certain distance from parking lot to hotel, winter is quite not convenient but if you like to pay extra for valet parking that’s not a problem. Activity is worth to go. I went for ghost tour which is awesome! They hired professional staff for this special tour during Halloween only. All activities are good to see, staff are nice. You paid for this $30 per day mandatory so why not check it out.
Room is small and not sound proof, heard very clear people walking in the hall way and your neighbors. Outdoor pool is awesome, must check that while stay. It’ll be better if it’s spring water then I guess more people will want to stay here. It’s a castle so must go once in a lifetime, but compared to Fairmont lake Louise, I feel everything is overpriced. However the Willow stream spa is awesome I definitely will come back for that.

We strayed for two nights and have a great time. We booked a bike and hike tour with Sarah. The services should be explained upon check in as we happened upon the rev centre.
The tour was fantastic, Sarah was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. We left at 9 and came back at 11:30am, saw some great historic sites that Sarah explained and hiked the forest for about 45 minutes. Sarah’s knowledge of plants was great. The offer of an iced coffee or hot drink was a perfect way to end the tour.
Thanks to Sarah and all of the staff for going above and beyond!!

Letitia, the assistant front desk manager who checked us in was so friendly and kind. She even gave us a beautifully written handwritten card for our anniversary and restaurant voucher. Our room had a beautiful view and we really enjoyed the delicious breakfast and deserts in the Gold lounge. Marisa was our guide for the evening Vermilion Lakes tour and she did an excellent job making sure we were comfortable for the whole ride and provided us with snacks and plenty of stops. We enjoyed the fun and interesting facts she shared about the wildlife and nature around the lakes. We had a great stay!

How do you rate one of the best views in the world? With 5 stars. The property is incredible, and the staff are extremely attendant. The only downside is the rooms are a bit aged, but it mostly adds to the charm. If money isn't an issue, this shouldn't even be a question. Otherwise, cross your fingers and hope someday someone will pay for you to come.

Great place to stay. The "castle" is highly impressive and unique. Rooms are a bit small but not a real concern. Lots of activities do around Banff. The weekend brunch is a good meal, a bit pricey.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights. I thought that our room was clean and comfortable, and the service was top notch in every way. We also did the daily tour and learned so much about this incredible place that is so beautiful, and has history that goes back more than 100 years. Rachel was our guide and she was phenomenal. This is easily one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at.

The nicest hotel I've ever stayed at. It's in gorgeous surroundings. It's historic yet decedent. The staff were amazing! I'm not sure how great things would be with wheelchairs since it is an old building, but I'm willing to bet the staff have that figured out with parking or valet service and elevators.

We stayed in a two Queen room within the conference centre building and it had a nice side view of the main building and mountains. The window isn't big so the room was a bit dim. It was clean but nothing overly special. Beds were comfortable with choice of pillows. Bathroom appeared updated with new fixtures. The building is connected by walkway to the main hotel and there's signage along they way so you don't get turned around. Although it's a lot quicker to walk across the road to the main building, the inside route is good for when the weather is cold/rainy. The main building public areas are beautiful and we enjoyed the live singing performance at Rundle Lounge one evening. Checking in and out was efficient and staff brought our luggage to and from the room which was a nice touch.

Took my mom for birthday brunch to the Bow Valley Grill. It was delicious and had a lovely variety! Our waiter Matt was excellent - super friendly and attentive, we left with to go cups of the fantastic English Breakfast tea. Great experience!

The Fairmont is my number one choice for a vacation or getaway in Banff Canada. The staff takes care of you, especially if you are on the good level. The breakfast has a wide verity and the dining room staff are very friendly. There is so much to do at the hotel that whenever you head out for the day you can find everything you need; valet parking, convenient store for cheaper options, fast wifi, laundry.

Only reason I am giving them a 4 star rating is because both me and the guests I was traveling with got extra charges we had to get taken off and when asking for a package for valet we had to call 3 times and the valet never came so our conference was delayed. Other than that I have no complaints and this place is definitely my favorite option.

User

Absolutely stunning hotel. Great rooms and wonderful views around the lake. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. All the food and restaurants were great. Would definitely recommend a stay here for a romantic get away.

User

Beautiful venue well worth exploring even if you're staying elsewhere in Banff. Lots of great photo opportunities. If you have a chance it's work to experience a meal at one of the many venues here as well. The food is very good and very well presented. Reasonably priced options are available so that you don't break the bank.

Honestly this was one of the very best accommodations I've had in my years of travel. I've been in all "star" rated hotels, some in India, Ireland, UK, Denmark, Japan, and elsewhere. The warmth and security of this landmark place is like no other. The room was meticulous and the staff always ready and happy to see us. We were there for 5 days in May 2016 and I hope to return with my dear wife. We loved the area of course. Simply a world-class hotel, a property, and a very well managed and trained staff that has very few in front of it to look to for hotel-management examples.

Amazing place, beautiful all around and the very well maintained hotel is absolutely gorgeous.
Had a spa day with a girlfriend and got a deep tissue massage (60mins) with all the services that come with it (pools, resting room and very well stocked lockers with amenities)
The service was outstanding. First you arrive and the lady will show you around and give you your locker key. Your locker already have your robe and the sandals.
You go enjoy the pools or relax in the room where there are drinks. The massage was excellent. Would definitively go back again!

I took my grandmother here for Afternoon Tea while she was visiting Alberta from the coast. Our server Janelle made the experience hands down out of this world! She explained the menu with grace and made sure we knew what we were ordering before making our decision. When our food came she took the time to explain what each item was, considering there was a lot food I was blown away that she remembered every single one without a stutter. There was other tables being assisted by another staff member and I could tell those guest weren’t getting the same experience Janelle was providing. I strongly believe she is a great asset to this hotel and will be back for based on the experience Janelle provided.

If the cost is not prohibitive this is a great place to stay. Wonderful amenities, great location for access to the town center, the hot springs and the gondola. The restaurants are great and the beds are so comfy. You also cannot beat the view. Even if not staying here, coming for the weekend brunch is very worth it! Still expensive but a good place for a date or special occasion.

Absolutely beautiful castle in the mountains! So historic! Totally romantic place. Just wandering around the place is amazing. The bed was so comfortable, a person could easily over sleep. The outdoor pool is a great experience in the wintertime. Don't miss a chance to stay here.
