We are looking for a long lost friend, and past employee for Fair's Fair Books. If anyone sees this dear man, please let us, or the authorities know. Thank you.
So many books...
What books have you read about World War 1?
Lest We Forget
I hope everyone will consider donating the price of at least a cup of coffee to Rose and her family. A little from everyone can go a long way. Please share this post.
Not only is the selection excellent, but the condition and experience is as well. The price is nothing to scoff at either. I've never come away without at least one of the books I was looking for, and the people who work here are absolute gems! It's always dangerous to come in and just browse - I've "accidentally" spent well over $100 by mistake. Cannot recommend enough!
My first bookstore, literally. I have been coming to your Inglewood location since before I could walk, and I thank you and your staff for years of pleasure. I am an adult now, and it was a moment of pride for me when I set up my own account independent of my mom's - not to mention whenever I go home for a visit, I have to stop in and linger a little. Not only is your store approachable, but your entire location is as good as another home for me. Thank you for the serenity, memories and amazing books you guys provide.
Love this bookstore! They have so much selection and prices are amazing! My husband, myself and my daughter all found something we were looking for!
It's a used bookstore. It's local, it's not a big chain. The inglewood has ton of books, and is just kinda nice to wander around the bookstore and check things out.
I just like being in there, its a really cool place... but I can never leave without something catching my interest and ending up on my personal book shelf.
Great collection and great prices.
Best bookstore in Calgary. Huge selection, books are in great condition, well organized, very affordable and the owners are delightful! <3. I've been coming here since 1991, it's an Inglewood icon!
Awesome store! I need more time there.
Excellent selection of books, very-well organized, clean, etc. A real pleasure to visit this store. One concern: on my second visit to the store, patrons in the store were made an audience to whom I assume was one of the owners telling a staff member that she (the owner) found the employee so annoying that she (the owner) had to leave the store. This seemed like a strange way for an owner to respond to an employee's behaviour and it definitely was a conversation that didn't need to happen with customers present. (And FWIW: the employee in question was not annoying to me at all--she was pleasant, polite, etc.). This experience left me with an overall negative impression of the store ... an impression that worsened as I returned to my car in the parking lot and saw the employee crying in her car at the end of her shift. A great store, but a not-so-great vibe. Hopefully, it was just an off day.
Went into the 17th Avenue location to purchase some books, while there i noticed a discrepancy on the price of one of their books, they were selling a visibly damaged used book for $5 more than what a new copy at chapters costs - I'd understand if it was a rare or hard to find book, but literally every chapters in the city carries the book. I went upto the young lady at the cash desk and pulled the information up on my phone to show her, and tell her that I think the book was mispriced, I was instantly given attitude, and she just shrugged like "yeah, so?", I felt this to be very rude, and I told her that she didn't have to cop an attitude with me, at which point she became even ruder with me and started to argue with me that she wasn't giving me attitude. All in all, I feel that this place lacks good customer service skills, or maybe just biased towards first nations individuals.
