The calla lily was named after the Greek word beautiful.
The most common meaning for calla lilies is purity, holiness, and faithfulness. It’s commonly depicted in images of the Virgin Mary. Calla lilies are also symbols for rebirth and resurrection, tied to the resurrection of Jesus in part because they bloom around Easter and in part because they are shaped like trumpets which symbolize triumph.
The white calla lily symbolize purity and innocence.
... This all explains why the calla lily is my favorite flower. What I choice for my wedding day and why I have them in my yard every year. Picture from last night in my yard, so beautiful!

Thought I should share this morning why I have been away from my page this last month. I have been working with flowers but in a different way. For the past month I have been working with Laurie and her amazing team at The Plant Ranch.
