Our company offers solutions to social and environmental issues which Calgarians currently face. - Our products focus on restorative landscaping which heals the earth and builds healthy urban ecosystems - Our workforce focuses on hiring people who are on a journey of recovery and because of this have barriers to finding meaningful work which supports their efforts Our legacy vision is vast, however currently FoodScape Calgary offers 2 primary products - The Sacred Medicine Garden - this garden is designed to help heal the relationship between your organization and the Indigenous people of Canada. The garden is designed for institutions such as universities, churches and hospitals. Featuring the 4 sacred medicines used in prayer and smudge ceremonies by those who practice Indigenous spirituality. Designers are available for consultations focused on Indigenous / Métis land stewardship ethics and practice - Transforming grass yards into beautiful low maintenance landscapes, with native plants, flowers and foods. These designs use less water, require less time to maintain, and create a healthy ecosystem which less harmful to the environment. We focus on designing abundant Foodscapes and Spin farms, giving you the power to even yield profits from your yard. What makes FoodScape unique is our company structure, which is a Solidarity Cooperative. This means profit sharing for both our worker-owners and client members. Unlike other landscaping and permaculture companies, there is no individual owner who profits from the work of our landscape teams labour. Success and wealth are returned to the community What's more, we are hiring our earthwork teams from marginalized people who face barriers to meaningful work. Our belief is that earthwork is healing, a community is empowering and our employment structures help support people in their recovery journey.
