About Forty Mile Rail

We want to introduce you to Forty Mile Rail. The rail came to Foremost originally in 1913 – some 103 years ago and we have just recently brought it back into working order. Today there is track running from Foremost, west to Stirling with a couple private elevators remaining on the line on the way. The existing track was rehabilitated prior to 2000 and the last year there was any movement on the line was in 2006 – the last year it was operational until now.

Forty Mile Rail’s main focus is to establish itself as a reliable delivery agent for its customer’s products to the main line and from there, these products will move to markets – wherever that may be. The Primary market for Forty Mile Rail’s services is expected to be grain and pulse production. Other industry has arisen as potentials such as oil movement, and other non-grain products which we are open to the opportunities this will bring in the future.

Currently Forty Mile Rail Inc. has nearly 100 shareholders representing nearly 400, 000 acres. There are both farm and non-farm supporters.

Not only does this short line provide needed economic activity to the area it also opens up more convenient markets to producers in the area. Markets that may not be just the old traditional markets producers were used to, but global markets as well. This will be done through existing grain companies and /or by producers themselves.

We welcome you to message us to get any added in-sight into what we have planned for our future and the future of the community around us.
