Excellent interpretive centre, very informative, considerate exhibits that truly capture the emotion and atmosphere of the slide itself, as well as further exhibits that talk about the geology, history, and what is currently being done to monitor the mountain. The price is very good, and the staff knowledgeable and friendly. They play 2 different movies, one from the 80's that is mainly about the Crowsnest in general, and one from 2003 specifically produced to commemorate the 100th anniversary. Please be sure to take this 2003 film in as it is much better than the 80's one, informative, emotional, and really puts you "there" for the slide. Also worth doing, weather permitting, is the interpretive trail going around the centre and through the rocks. Give yourself a couple of hours to take it all in properly.

Haven't been since I was a kid. Does an amazing job covering the history of the area, the disaster, as well as the reasons why the slide occurred (using kid-friendly science). If you're at all interested in the Frank Slide and it's been a few years since you took a field trip, I strongly recommend visiting the Interpretive Centre.

Frank slide was a rock slide that wiped out part of the town of Frank in the Crowsnest pass in the early 1900's. Frank was a coal mining town at the base of a mountain. The mountain has a number of layers that are quite weak. One night a portion of the mountain came roaring down and wiped out 20% of the town and went part way up the opposite slope and that is where the interpretive centre is located. There are some good view points to see the mountain and rock piles. If you go inside you can pay to see a movie about the slide

Nice and well presented centre showcasing what happened here just over 100 years ago. Kept very clean and presentable, and also very accessible to any and all people. Some fantastic views available on the nearby walkways and paths.

Remarkable place to let you experience history. Very fascinating scenery and the staff are accomodating. The museum though is not free but very worth it :)

A really well put together interpretive center. Lots to see and read. They are activities for the kids as well, so they stay engaged. The movies and live presentations were really well done. There is also a walk through the rubble which was nice as well. Staff is very helpful and friendly. They also advised on places to go see outside of the center as well which was nice.

Beautiful interpretive centre. They did a great job on it and it's cheap to get in. You'll learn a lot about the history of what happened, however, if you are here to learn, take the guided tour. The guys and gals who work here know so much and it's really interesting. I loved walking through the path they made in the slide, and it was just a great way to spend a Saturday. Haven't been here in years, as I went when I was a child, but I appreciate it way more and it was a great trip.

Very well put together. Good mix of personal impact stories and the science behind the event.

Awesome staff and was even able to pick up some comics when I was there. Super friendly and knowledgeable. This museum is top class even if it's depressing.

Good facilities and a perfect pit stop to take the kids. Admission is $5/adult. They have a free binocular station which lets you get a closer look at Turtle mountain.
