Freestyle Movement Dance Company

Freestyle Movement aims to teach breaking (a freestyle Hiphop dance), host breaking competitions and provide a place for bboys & bgirls to practice.

Breaking also known as Bboying or Bgirling, has been rebranded as "Break Dance. " Although commonly associated with hooligans or gangsters, this dance has been a medium of expression for many cultures around the world. The diverse history of the bboys and bgirls contributing to this culture have evolved this art form into a true form of freestyle dance.

In order to share this amazing gift of free expression, Freestyle Movement will offer formal dance instruction in a studio setting. We also must stay true to the roots of the dance by balancing the studio structure with weekly cyphers, Hiphop jams, and workshops.

The cypher is sharing circle. It is where dancers can express themselves and show people their identity, their style. As dancers stand in a circle taking turns one at a time, they pick up on patterns and trends. This is how the dance grows, and this is how dancers refine their skills.
