Gem By Carati

They took my wife's wedding band and used the igsisting dimonds plus newly purchased dimonds and turned it into a iterity band. Very please, with the work. My wife loves it. Would definitely recommend them.

My fiancé got my engagement ring from Gem by Carati and worked with Charlotte. She designed my dream engagement ring! She has been absolutely wonderful to work with and I highly recommend her to anyone shopping for any piece of jewelry. She is knowledgeable and highly educated in her field. We went to all the big stores in Calgary and nothing compares to the experience we had with her! We recently went to see her again to pick out our wedding bands, I can’t say enough good things!

I needed some jewelry repaired and emailed Justin at Gem by Carati on a recommendation from Calgarypuck Forums. Received a very prompt reply (within the hour) addressing my query with a ballpark quote on the repair fee. Brought the piece in the same day and was told it would be about a week for the repair. Received a phone call the next day advising that the repair was complete and the charge actually ended up being less than the estimate he had provided!

As a reference point, the final repair fee ended up being 25% of what I was quoted by another jewelry store (where I originally purchased the piece).

To summarize:
- Extremely prompt in responding to queries;
- Very reasonable repair pricing;
- Turnaround time on my repair was 1 day. I would have been happy with the quoted 1 week;
- Repair was done in-house, not shipped away to a third party.

Where do I begin? In the last four years I've easily spent $25,000 in Gem by Carati. I'll keep it brief.

Engagement ring: stole the show from Tacori! Was going to get a diamond I was buying from Blu Nile set in a Tacori setting. Justin agreed to set it for me. I went in to have a look at his shop, he showed me some diamonds and settings, walked me through what to expect, etc.

No sales BS at all. Just straight up "how can I help you".

Decided to see what he could do for the diamond/setting. He doesn't carry Tacori, but he does carry lots of other brands and I found a setting I liked more than the Tacori I had been eyeing. Justin came in well under what I was expecting to pay.

Then there were the first three watches: two Hamilton's and a Tissot. Let me return the first Hamilton as I decided I didn't like it. No BS there, either.

The next three watches? A Longines, a Tissort, and another Hamilton (oof, I've got four Hamilton's thanks to him).

Then my wedding ring (another great experience), a necklace for my wife (she loves it), and a watch for my wife (another Hamilton, she loves it).

I won't go anywhere else, and you shouldn't either. These guys are a real Gem... (couldn't resist).

Wonderful experience purchasing an engagement ring. The staff was friendly and professional. Justin was extremely knowledgeable, professional and patient when showing me multiple options. Great experience for a stressful process! Would highly recommend this family owned shop to anyone looking for rings/bands/watches.

Justin and his team have been a pleasure to deal with. I started off with a watch purchase for myself, and they made the process simple and enjoyable. A few months later I was in the market for an engagement ring, and was getting frustrated with all the stores I went to. I went to Gem by Carati and gave Justin my budget, and styles my fiancée was interested in. He came back with three designs, with separate stones, so I was able to get the perfect ring at my budget point. We have gotten our wedding rings there now as well, and we could not be happier.

I would recommend Justin to anyone and everyone, honesty is important to me, especially when spending a large sum of money. This store was the only one I went to that I felt was straight up and honest throughout the entire transaction!
