Geodesy Group Inc. has been in business since 1987. We have been actively involved in aerial photographic surveys throughout Canada and overseas for the past seventeen years. Geodesy's experience in Canada covers all of the Prairie Provinces, the Yukon and the Northwest Territories including the High Arctic islands. With two aircraft the firm has averaged, in an April to October season, 600 hours of photo work that produces approximately 40 to 60 film rolls of production. The projects worked on cover virtually every application that survey photo is put to. Geodesy does many low level, large scale projects for development and engineering projects. Our client list includes many engineering and photogrammetry firms in private industry. Much of the work performed is with all three levels of government, including agencies and crown corporations. The company's work with this group of customers includes large- to small-scale projects of all sorts that require the whole range of film types. Geodesy has worked on projects where scales have ranged from 1: 1, 200 to 1: 70, 000. A majority of our work has been for various government departments throughout Western Canada, Alberta Government ESRD and a variety of Federal Government departments. Geodesy also has experience working for the United States National Science Foundation on the Antarctic Continent. Geodesy is a mature and established company with extensive experience in aerial survey operations and photogrammetric mapping with both domestic and international experience. Key individuals in the organization have extensive experience in excess of 100 years. In seventeen years, we have flown over 11, 000 hours of survey and over 4, 000 individual projects have been carried out. This work has produced over 1, 000 rolls of film and 3 million line kilometres of photography. Geodesy has stayed current with changing technologies and supplies an ALL DIGITAL solution for mapping projects. We operate a large format digital camera manufactured by Vexcel. In the area of remote sensing Geodesy partners to conduct Lidar surveys and offers a wildfire mapping service on conjunction with Itres Research using their TABI 1800 (Thermal Airborne Broadband Imager).
