Girlz Nite Out Description
GirlzNiteOut is a free empowerment program founded by two sisters in September 2011 which is hosted at the Muslim Youth Centre for Muslimahs (Muslim girls, sisters and women). Our aim is to provide an entertainment outlet that is both inspirational and educational. Islamic trivia, energetic games, workshops, crafts and prizes are a part of this program! We encourage all participants to bring a snack to share to foster Islamic value of sharing with others. GirlzNiteOut places strong emphasis on Islamic values and manners. Respect, cleanliness and punctuality are our core values. Door prizes are given as incentives and appreciation for arriving on time : )
GirlzNiteOut is aimed at girls ages 12-25 and is held Every First Friday of Every Month from 7: 30-9: 30pm at the Muslim Youth Centre #24, 7750 Ranchview Drive NW
For everyone’s safety, doors are locked at 8pm. No entry granted thereafter.
GirlzNiteOut Junior is aimed at girls ages 7-11 and is held Every First Friday of Every Month from 6: 00-7: 30pm.
In addition to the regular monthly events, GirlzNiteOut hosts several other events throughout the year including but not limited to:

Family Fun Days
Bakesales
Fundraisers for a cause- Aid to Syria, ALS Disease research, Palestinian aid
GirlzDayOut-trips included laser tag, go karting, pizza parties, bowling, ice skating, rollerskating /rollerblading & more!

EMAAN stands for Educational Muslim Achievement Awards Night.
EMAAN’s mission is to celebrate student achievements and accomplishments. We recognize junior high, senior high and post secondary students’ excellence in all aspects of life, including academic, community service, and leadership.
EMAAN was introduced to Calgary in 2004 with an objective to encourage youth in our community to seek knowledge by furthering their education, to contribute positively to society and to celebrate Muslim student achievements.
Each year, several categories of awards (trophies and medals) are presented to: Junior High School students, Senior High School students, Post-Secondary (Diploma, BSc, MSc, and PhD) students The awards include: Graduation Awards (Grade 9, Grade 12 and Post-Secondary), Academic Merit Awards (students achieving Honours with Distinction), and Special Recognition Awards: Top Academic Student Award, Most Improved Student Award, Community Service and Youth Leadership Award, Arts Award, Athlete of the Year Award, Literature and Journalism Award, Qur’an Memorization Award, Arabic Award, and Perseverance Award and Science Award The event is attended by representatives of the Government of Alberta, Calgary City Council, Calgary Board of Education, principals of various schools in Calgary, as well as Imams and leaders of our Calgary Muslim community.
The event will be composed of the following: – Full course dinner. – Great guest speakers. – Trophies/Medals presented on stage for graduating students and special recognition recipients. – Scholarships and academic awards to top students (Grade 12). – Door Prizes.
