love the fireworks display... more food,,more fireworks please

User

Was fun. Great to learn new things and the passport pursuit thing was interesting and a great way to start a rapport that led to half hour conversations about culture and experiences that ppl have had in their countries. Definitely going to keep attending throughout.

User

This was a fantastic event with my daughters. A great moment to remember and cherish. I recommend to everyone

User

It is a great way for my family and I to celebrate my birthday!! Amazingly beautiful display of music and fireworks - stuff you need to be on the hill for. Love going and will continue to go! Thanks Globalfest!!

User

I. Would like to thank you very much is Lucas ,Cindy, Andrew ,Scott, and I can go on all the green tea they all do a great job they work very hard I know they all love volunteering there and helping out into forgetting everybody else that help there to they all did a great job and we will see you next year have a great year

User

I've been going for the last 10 years and haven't missed one since I started attending. Absolutely LOVE the fireworks, they put the city's new year's eve and Canada Day fireworks to shame LOL. I wish they would have a section for just chairs and the rest of the hill for people with blankets, so no one can get blocked by inconsiderate people.

User

I love GlobalFest! It sucks that it rained this year and they had to push things around... but what can you do? It does tell you on the website that the event depends on the weather. The event organizers improve year after year. I go every year, and totally enjoy the food and festivities every time!

User

I had such an amazing time at Elliston Park. The stages were amazing to watch, people were courteous and it was truly an event bringing ALL Canadians together. The fireworks were unbelievable but also, the crowd booing Rachel Notley as she was mentioned on the loud speaker really made my night!

User

Despite what some people have to say, it has been an enjoyable festival so far! Yes, the event changed a bit but in the end you still get your food and fireworks. (Give the staff a chance to try new things!) The food is a bit pricey but this is authentic food brought to you guys to enjoy. What other festivals don't charge you a lot? Great festival! As you get to learn new things, meet new people and experience! You really don't get much of these kinds of events.. I can't wait for future shows!!

User

Been volunteering for years now. So happy every show to see the patrons that come out excited to see the cultural events and the pyrotechnic show. I've had people of all ages, ethnicities, genders, the whole range of people tell me how much they loved the night. It brings me back year after year

User

Been to at least 8 (possibly more) Global Fests. Always a great show

User

Im unimpressed with the change because i was never informed as i havent liked this page on FB so there is no way i could have known my tickets werent good for tonight. I bought tickets for SATURDAY and being forced to attend on Sunday is highly inconvenient. The country competing was irrelevant so i am quite upset that i now have to go on a sunday instead. I wasnt keen to stay up late on a worknight hence why i picked a saturday.

I still gave you guys a 3 star because the festival itself has always been delightful, im just annoyed with the change and lack of communication! Hopefully globalfest can learn from this and perhaps send an email to all ticketholders should an event change? Im fairly certain i had to include my email when i purchased them online. Not sure how you could inform those who purchased them in a different way.

User

I have a serious problem with the bussing cost ... There should be a bussing pass so you don't have to keep paying every night if you have the event pass. People complaining about weather delays ... Are you nuts ... It's about safety and fire hazards. I have attended this event every year, and my only complaint any every year is the cost of the bussing. Southland is making a fortune here. Bus drivers get paid almost nothing ... It's a 5 hour shift ... So 12 passengers pays each wage, 40 per load, each driver is doing multiple trips. You do the math.

User

unbelievably terrible customer service regarding refunds. you get zero stars from me... ZERO. we don't live in Calgary. the event swoop agent told me I could try to sell the tickets? wtf is that? if you are providing an event that can be affected by weather, you need to be willing to refund under those conditions as well. 140 bucks down the drain! Doesn't jive with the spirit of the event! Shame on you!

User

Well GlobalFest. You could send emails about irrelevant crap but you couldn't notify me that my ticket wasn't valid for the date printed on the ticket? Really? I understand China had to run next but at least let us know. Some of us aren't glued to the Internet or TV. This is the first time I bought tickets, and I got them in NOVEMBER for the specific DATE I wanted. Not a specific country. I will not be supporting GlobalFest again. Very annoyed and disappointed with the lack of apology, explanation, or offer to make things right. Mostly the lack of notification. Hopefully Sunday night is worth me being exhausted at work Monday. It'll be the first and last GlobalFest for us.

User

Unbelievable. I can not wait to express how you scam people's money to everyone i know. 6 tickets. We live out of town and bought tickets to take our family thursday night. It was cancelled. Back to work today and no refund from you. Where is my money going when we can not attend!? Absolutely disgusting. Enjoy the 120 dollars. I'm calling the Better Business Bureau

User

Not impressed at all!! I understand why the Thursday show was postponed, but being forced to either show up or forfeit your tickets/money because we couldn't come on Friday due to other commitments is unacceptable. I called and was told that no refunds or exchanges would be issued, I certainly won't be spending my money to go to your event ever again, and will advise anyone I know of the same.

User

Not accepting tickets for they day were intended for when there is perfectly good weather is not acceptable. Too bad, guess they only care about the money. The excuse that due to fire regulations they can't admit more people would not have prevented them from exchanging tickets at the door and still keeping the head count consistent.

User

I rate it at zero stars! I had to be forced to rate in a star just to give my opinion. Just like I was forced to not attend because you guys changed the date on the tickets.

User
