Happy New Year Everybody!! We spent our New Years Eve watching the cows and waiting for more early arrivals. The 2019 calving season has officially begun and we would like the wish everyone the best of luck and a safe calving season.

Thanks you to everyone who helped me this show season. I couldn't ask for a better crew :)

I'm having a solid start to my 2018 show season at the Lloydminister Stockade Round Up. I received Grand Champion Shorthorn Female with Lassie 130E, Champion and Reserve Champion Senior Heifer calf and Reserve Champion Junior Bull. I also got Champion and Reserve Champion Shorthorns in the Stockade Lady with the heifer calves. I would like to thank my show day crew, Brittany Hehr, Vanessa Sheppard and Brianna Senetza. I couldn't of done it without you!!

I have had quite a few inquiries as to how my Jungles bull is doing so I pulled out the blower, blew the dust off and took some pictures today. JSF Talking Point 90E is the service sire to all my purebred heifers this year. I love my little Goober and I am looking forward to his calves in January 2019.

Entries for some of the fall shows close in less than a week and I still can't decide which yearling to take out. I am starting to stress. I am leaning towards the roan. He is not as thick as the red but he has a puppy dog temperament that can't be beat where Red can be a d*** wad. On the down side, he has never been shown before. Opinions please! I would sure appreciate your input!

This yearling was looking pretty fine on pasture so I brought him home and put him in the show pen. He has never been shown before so I hope that all goes well so I can bring him out to the shows this fall.

Some of my favorite summer pics.

I put the Quiet Wean nose flaps in the first batch of calves. I tried them for the first time last year and they are fantastic. Less stress, less noise and most of all....less sickness.

My commercial yearling heifers and a couple of boss cows to show them the way.

Less than a month until weaning! I'm sure looking forward to this Big Rig heifer calf. With any luck, she will be in my fall showstring. Her mama is a pretty dang good Prospect Hill cow. I have two other daughters and a granddaughter in my herd

Big Rig 41C and some herd shots.

Home Sweet Home. Every evening (between 8 and 9 pm) the cows make their way out of the bush and walk home to bed down in front of the house for the night.

I love checking cows!

The pb yearling heifers are happy to be on pasture with the clean up bull despite the swarms of mosquito's. I have never seen those blood suckers this bad!!

User

The clean up bulls are finally out with the ladies. Hopefully there is not too much work for them to do.

Our third batch of calves are branded, processed and off to pasture. Two more batches to go then it's fence fixing and beer drinking time!
