They have cut off some of their squat racks for personal trainers only. This would be acceptable if they brought in extra ones, but they simply cut off the existing ones to use only for personal training bring the number down from 4 to 2 and resulting in long lines and frustrating situations. People were all over the floor, tripping over each other doing heavy deadlifts in the middle of footpaths. When I asked one of the employees why this is, he replied that the people that are buying personal training are paying $5000-$8000 a year. Sorry buddy, I'm not going to pay thousands of extra dollars to use equipment that was originally intended for general use. Not going to this location again.

Decent gym, but their "open 24 hours is a bit of a lie". It's only open 24 hours part of the week, the rest vary.

I've been to several gyms in the city and this one, by far, has the best classes and great class instructors. Its always clean and the staff are very friendly.

$42 for signing up $27.30 every 2 weeks. cancellation is another $100 with 30 days notice (meaning they will take 2 more payments of 27.30 even after cancellation). please read the contract. before signing up with them. Also they only use direct withdraws from your personal account. they are advertising $14 for 14 days. please read the fine print. good gyms are everywhere. dont go for the name and get robbed.

Impossible to cancel a membership. Can't cancel on the phone, went to the gym to cancel in person, told me no managers were there to cancel my membership and wouldn't be there all weekend. There was 3 people at the tables being signed up for new memberships. I am moving out of country and they refused to help. Ive already done my initial year, so there should be no problem right? WRONG, they told me to try one of the gyms on the other side of the city because they "might" have a manager working. The second you tell them you want to cancel they start treating you like you're garbage. This practice of making it impossible to cancel is morally wrong and probably should have some laws in place to protect against it. These guys push the limits. Will never spend a dime with them again and will actively deter people from signing up.

I go here on a regular basis, awesome place to work up a sweat and really friendly people too! Parking is somewhat hard to find on Mondays and around peak hours but it's the closest one to me and has all the necessary equipments except that sometimes it is crowded like i said before around peak hours.

Horrible customer service.

My contract with Goodlife ended in Sept 2016 and I was paying on a monthly basis. I wanted to end my contract and got the run around. I was told I had to book an appointment with the manager, Melinda to cancel my contract. When I showed up for the appointment, she sent another associate (not a manager, just one of the people that are at the front) to handle my cancelation. Now, why did I have to book an appointment with her if someone at the front could've just done it. The associate told me that I couldn't cancel because the computer showed that I was under contract until Sept 2017. That was an error in their computer system or someone entered the wrong date. I spoke to the associate, who contacted head office (they were useless), then spoke to Melinda (even more useless). Then came Nick, the GM. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. He kept coming up with "reasons" why it wasn't their fault. The way he was talking to me was very condescending. I wish I had recorded the conversation, so I can send it to their head office. If Goodlife values their customers, they shouldn't hire someone like Nick to deal with people. I fortunately had the original contract that I signed, at home, and retrieved it to show them that the error was on their end. He was still coming up with excuses, even after the fact. I finally was able to cancel my membership and won't be going to Goodlife anymore. My husband still has his membership with them, but once I told him about my experience there, he's going to cancel his membership as well. They've given him the run around before when he wanted to put his membership on hold (after the contract ended). In my opinion, Goodlife will do whatever they can to keep taking money from their clients as long as they possibly can. I won't recommend anyone joining their facilities. There are much better facilities, with better prices, and most importantly, who treat their clients with respect and professionalism.

I'm updating my rating from 5/5 to 2/5. Staff is terrific but it's so hard to keep a consistent crew that I barely know anyone anymore. Most trainers quit because of the new manager and he seems like a very unapproachable man compared to the others. Equipment is consistently broken down as well. 4 years ago I was hoping for newer machines and I still am. Deerfoot, Airdrie, and the mall location downtown are a lot more fun. This one gets three stars still because the new staff are awesome.

Old review (5/5)

I've been working out here for 4 years now and love it. I would love to see some newer machines but that is just me being absolutely picky.

I've purchased the personal training as well and the trainers are terrific. All around I recommend this gym to the beginner and the intermediate user.
