Over the last couple of days we've had a number of inquiries about; "How do I keep my feet dry?" And, "How do I keep my feet warm?"
The first answer is using any of the waterproof/breathable footwear options from HOKA, ON, Brooks and Salomon as they're shoes have some form of a membrane that keeps the wind and water out which keeps your feet dry! Shoe price range from $169.95 to $199.95 Fall '18 line up, photo one, with flash to hilite reflectivity and photo two, without f...lash for the daytime look.
The second answer is using any of the wool sock blends from Darn Tough or Wigwam as they both use Merino Wool along with some polyester fibres and it's the wool that if and when it gets wet it maintains it's insulating properties and keeps the feet warmer. And both the Darn Tough and Wigwam socks are guaranteed for life! Yes, if and when you wear a hole in them bring the pair of socks in and the retailer replaces the socks with today's equivalent sock! Though a native Calgarian I haven't lived in the city for almost 7 years, so when looking for shoes in Calgary I took to Facebook for my options. The responses were overwhelmingly in favour of going to Gord's Running Store so within a few hours I was heading to Gord's. I'm not a runner (yet!) so I was looking for a good pair of supportive running shoes to help me train for my first race, a 15km Nike event in Toronto. I told Gord about my Facebook question and he remained humble but still seemed pleased that so many of my friends spoke so highly of his shop.



He was extremely knowledgable (and so was the other girl who was helping someone else) and patient as I walked around the store. He even offered for me to return them if they didn't work after a test run. I got them today and just took them out for a nice 6km jog and they are perfect. I can't thank him enough, not only for the shoes but for the amazing experience. Mental barriers and shoes are half the battle and I already look and feel so much better with the shoes. Gord's for the win!!!!!!! I will tell everyone I know to head there and will certainly do all my running shoe purchases in Calgary when I'm visiting. Thanks again Gord!!

I ordered a pair of Altra Superior 2.0's over the phone. After taking my info, Gord shipped them to me. Told me to try them on, walk around the house, and if I liked them to send him a cheque!!! Wow!! Service like that is hard to find these days! My first pair of shoes in 6 years (barefoot runner), and the experience was great! Don't hesitate to do buisness here!

I live in Ontario and I'm am yet to find a store in my local area that has such superb customer service, attention to detail, and willingness to go above and beyond to satisfy a customer! Gord you are number one!!!!!! My local area running stores were unwilling to order a pair of Newton running shoes that I needed- prob because I was inconveniencing them, and I was LUCKY enough to find Gords running Store on line! You are my go-to store from now on! Thank you soooo much!!!!

He's also an amazing long distance runner so has lots of tips and stories! The store is awesome- and carries certain gels/edibles that other sport stores in Calgary don't have. Thanks Gord!

Gord was so knowledgable, helpful and patient with us as my daughter and I tried on shoe after shoe until we both found just the right ones! We will definitely be back, and have told everyone about the wonderful service we received!
