Granite Curling Club Description
The Granite Curling Club is Edmonton’s oldest curling club and most prestigious curling club, and one of the oldest in the Province of Alberta. It was founded and incorporated in 1920, and officially opened for curling on December 20, 1920. Incorporation of the Club as a non-profit organization occurred in 1953 under the Societies Act.
The Granite boasts a number of provincial and national champions from all competitive levels: Matt Baldwin (Men); Hec Gervais (Men); Bill Mitchell (Mixed); Tom Reed (Men & Seniors); Randy Ferbey (Men); Tiffany Odegard (Juniors); Simon Handfield and Kathy Odegard (Senior Ladies) to name a few.
The Granite Curling Club hosts approximately 1, 000 curlers each week in regular play on 8 sheets of ice. Various community groups use the Clubs large ice pad area for cultural events, theatrical performances, fund-raising events and other public events during the off-season. We have over 250 volunteers from the Club and the Community and a history of organized and successful events.
The Granite Curling Club works hard to fulfill their mandate to promote the Sport of Curling among all age groups by providing a first-class facility for the enjoyment of curlers and community members.

If only we had some old rocks hiding somewhere around the club....we could have a rock garden out front.
