Great Taste Chinese Cuisine 鄭家莊

We like to come here for dim sum on the weekends and it gets VERY busy after 10:30am. Since this restaurant has changed management, I feel that it has gotten better. The atmosphere and food has been good but the prices have also gone up. Come for dim sum. They have all of your classic dim sum menu items.

This bargain shop has most stuffs like liquidation outlet but one cut up in terms of quality. The price is equal to or better than some liquidation shops. There are stuffs even compare to Thrift Stores they have better price. Their legging has large quality choices in color and fabric. Worth to check that out. Beddings set are surprisingly low price with decent qualify. Must check this shop out.

Food was good, but service was bad.
Servers passing our table so many times and paid zero attention to us. They paid attention on clearing the dishes on the tables that had no customers sitting at it. We had a lot of dishes on our table but zero attention.
I had to get up to get my own napkins and to get boxes. Manager never paid attention on how the staff were doing. To be fair, I think they were under staffed as well. I only saw two servers out of the entire restaurant. I'm not upset but rather than giving them a chance to correct it.
I usually tip 15% to 18% but didn't match it this time.

I had a horrible first experience here months ago but I've been told its chamged ownership lately so i gave this another shot.
Dinner was service was busy and food took much longer than expected to arrive. Once the first plate came, everything else came in quick succession.
I found that the plates were generous in size and full of flavour. The clams were saltier than I'd prefer but nonetheless they were good.
I'd gladly add this to my rotation of restaurants.

Food: Dim sum is not too bad but nothing stellar. The congee is really good but the black bean spare ribs need some work. They took 25 min (we were told this ahead of time) but when we got them they were chewy and a little sour.

Service: Staff are there to bring you the food and that's about it isn't much extra effort.

Atmosphere: Your typical Chinese restaurant vibe. Fairly loud even if the restaurant is half full.

Their food is amazing. The new owners also totally renovated the place. Looks great!

Good dim sum options with standard Calgary dim sum prices. Very good service (the staff remains calm and professional even when the place is super busy). Extremely busy around noon time on Saturdays and Sundays (be prepared to wait and to talk loudly so your table mates can hear you. Everyone talks very loudly at the restaurant). Satay beef Shanghai noodles and XO pan fried turnip class are highly recommended.

First time since changed name, for dim sum, loud and eh service is expected. So don't expect a smile or them paying full attention to you, specially during busy hours. That being said, they do listen so as I said. As expected for dim sum!
Go there for food only.
Took 40 mins for my last dish in my order, after I ate everything though, so that was funny. Otherwise it was yummy! Lots of flavor (depending on the dish, of course). It's nice to see the owner chilling there then helping once it picked up on the rush.

I didn't like the service of the previous family, and I was a bit wary when revisiting with the new management and staff, but everyone is very friendly and the food came fast, though there was a short wait for the table. I've only gone a few times for lunch, and I'm very pleased with the experience. It can be a bit too bright though due to so many windows and the colorful lights.
