Defensive Driving / Professional Driver Improvement

A nationally recognized driver improvement program developed by the Canadian Safety Council.

Key elements include:

- Principles and Foundations of Defensive Driving.
-The Driver ( Dealing more with Attitude).
-Dealing with intersections and Right of Way Regulations.
-How passing may lead to collisons and related Psychology.
-Aggressive Drivers and how to avoid becoming one.

All participants who pass a knowledge exam and have a valid Alberta Drivers Licence will qualify for a 3 demerit reduction on their licence.

Cargo Securement Training

An overview of the North American Cargo Securement Standard 10.

-Learn how to apply the securement requirements in the North American Cargo Securement Standard.
-Learn how to safely load and secure specific types of commodities.
-Learn how to inspect a secured load for compliance with the North American Cargo Securement Standard.

Topics include:
-Fundamentals of Cargo Securement.
-Cargo Securement Requuirements.
Proper securement requirements for specific commodities including - Logs, dressed lumber, Metal Coils, Paper Rolls, concrete pipe, Intermodal Containers, Automobiles, light trucks and Vans, Heavy Vehicles and equipement, Flattened or Crushed Vehicles, Roll on /off and hook lift containers, and large boulders.
