I actually had to pour myself a glass of wine to bring myself to post this. It's time to put the rumors to rest, once and for all.
But first, I want to be able to say that I did this with integrity. During the 10 years that we were open, I was NEVER underhanded with another business owner. I LOVE our towns, and am incredibly proud to call them my home. I have never spoken ill of another business owner as I would not have liked it done to me. I have neve...r perpetuated untruths regarding another business, OR, nor have I ever schemed against another business owner. It's NOT who I am. We will leave this business as we came in; with our heads held high.
It is with an incredibly heavy heart, and a tremendous amount of sadness that Craig and I are announcing the official closing of Grillo's Pizzeria.
I KNOW that there are rumors being spread about the possibility, and I have heard the "why's". And I know where they are coming from. I will NOT stoop to the level of another, and will not comment on the who. I certainly hope the good citizens of our towns will also not perpetuate rumors from another business owner.
What I will tell you is the facts. Initially, we had an annual lease which was signed on a yearly basis. That eventually converted to a month to month lease. We have learned the hard way that even though that can have some positives, it also comes with a HUGE negative. Our lease was cancelled. We found out after the fact that someone else wanted our space and location. There is ZERO that Craig and I can do to fight this. We tried. We won the battle but lost the war.
We want to send out the hugest heartfelt thank you to our customers. We have absolutely loved serving you all this last 10 years, and this has gutted us. I know I should have announced this sooner, and I am truly sorry. But I just couldn't bring myself to speak about it until now. This was our dream. And the sad reality of having it taken from us was too much to bear, so I said very little. For that, I am sorry, as we owed you all so much more than that. We can only hope that you understand our feelings, and why we didn't say anything sooner.
We will officially be closed as of Tuesday, May 22nd....which means we are open for our last day of business tomorrow, Monday from 12p-8p. As I hope you all can understand, when we received the news, we didn't go out and spend money stocking up as we usually do for our busy ice cream season, so consequently, we will not have ice cream tomorrow, but you can get your last Grillo's Pizza....and enjoy.
Please understand if I may not respond to some comments. This is likely one of the hardest things Craig and I have ever had to do. Thank you for an amazing 10 years! And we will truly miss you all.

Craig and I wanted to apologize to all of you for our technical issues at Grillo's over the last week. We have both been concentrating on Rizzo's and consequently, it took us entirely too long fix our technical issues at Grillo's. We are very sorry.
Our phone and debit machine bugs have now been fixed, and we are fully back up and running. Thank you all for your patience, and anyone that messaged me regarding our issues. Have a fantastic weekend.

Rizzo's Games and Rentals and Grillo's Pizzeria will be closed today for a staff appreciation day. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
Rizzo's will be open again on Friday, at 2pm and new release movies will be available then.

big fan of the ice cream!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We ordered a pepperoni and ham and we're going to get some ice cream after but we were too full. We really enjoyed the pizza.

This is the first time I have eaten here. I have been looking for a great little pizza joint since I moved here in January. We were beginning to lose hope and feared another crappy pizza. We were so surprised! We had a Calzone each and found it delicious! I am so happy we kept up the search for good pizza. I have always gotten ice cream cones from here but never pizza. The service has always be great and lots of smiles :) awesome place for service, ice cream AND PIZZA!!!

Edited to add that Heather, the owner has reached out to apologize and rectify - which is SO SO appreciated, more businesses should take note from her. The pizza was absolutely tasty and I'm looking forward to giving the breadsticks another go! Thanks Heather!!



We ordered a large Hawaiian pizza and a family size order of cheesy breadsticks tonight. The pizza was quite tasty! But the breadsticks were terribly over cooked. Like burned to a crisp, black and hard. Not sure how they missed how they were so overcooked, I mean they were cut up, tossed in Parm and boxed. I watched the owner look at the breadsticks and give instructions to what I presume to be new staff, telling him how to package them to go. Disappointed that we spent $8-something on hard black bread and hard cheese.

Couldn't ask for better staff and especially soft serve. My daughter is allergic to milk and was ssoo excited to hear that there were many choices for dairy free. We will continue to be back :) thanks ssoo much for the great experience :) my daughter says she will be remembering to come back :)

Have been coming here for a few years now. The food is amazing and the owner and younger staff are fantastic! However, last week I went in for an ice cream, paid, tipped, and received a tiny baby cone. I decided to ask why it was so small, and the lady told me, "well it melted", in a rude tone. I could not believe that even after I tipped them she didn't offer to just top of the ice cream!
