Happy Land Learning Centre Description

Happy Land Learning Centre- family day home opening in September of 2016.

We are located in Hidden Valley and offer child care for babies (min. 4 months old) and children (up to 6 years old).
Our philosophy is based on both education and loving care. A well structured daily routine with: lots of age appropriate self - care skills, plenty of learning opportunities and lots of play time.

We offer a beautiful, spacious and bright play area for our children including 2 meals + 2 snacks. The food will be mainly organic with lots of fresh fruits, veggies and freshly pressed juices.
Happy Land Day Care has acquired all the necessary permits from the City of Calgary. We are in the process of obtaining a Child Care Licence in 2016.

We are a family of 3 enthusiastic European ladies who love teaching and taking care of young children.

I, Andrea, am a passionate teacher with 18 years of experience (including special needs children). I also love cooking and baking healthy food.

My mom, Elizabeth, is a happy and super sweet lady with 7 grown children and lots of volunteering experience in child and home health care.

My sister, Lili, is a fun-loving and kind young lady who has worked and volunteered in Canada, Hungary, and the USA with both typical and special needs children.

We have a wonderful back up team in case of staff sickness or vacation time.
All of our members have First Aid Certificates and Police Clearances (including the vulnerability section). Andrea and Lili have also obtained the Prevent It- Certificate.

Andrea

My passion of teaching and taking care of children goes back to my childhood. I grew up in a big family as the oldest sibling where I loved taking care of my little sisters and brother. I also volunteered at church and babysat little ones while I was going through Teacher Training as a primary school and early childhood educator. My degree also focused on Conductive Education for special needs children. I love guiding students to develop speech, communication, social interaction, gross and fine motor skills and cognitive skills.
I grew up in Budapest, Hungary and acquired my first special needs teaching job in Ontario, Canada in 2002.
My career also took me to Kuwait, Sweden and Germany where I gained more international experience. However, my heart always pulled me back to Canada.
Eight years ago, in Calgary, I started out supporting special needs children and their families within a non profit organization. My passion for education of young children continued to grow and led me to the decision to open a family day home in Hidden Valley. I am looking forward to this new chapter in my life. I would love to assist families in developing independent children who are emotionally, physically and cognitively challenged.

Elizabeth

I am a caring, very hard working and lovely lady who brought up 7 children in the past 40 years. Besides bringing up my own children I helped many other families in Hungary to take care of their kids. I obtained my European Level 1 Child Care and Home Health Care diploma in 2008.
Canada became my second home in 2015 where I took ESL classes at Columbia College and I am very excited about continuing my English language skills.
Most recently I have volunteered with typical and special needs children in after school programs as well as in summer camps.

Liliana

I bring a young spirit to our team. My interest in working with children began at a very early age when I saw two of my sisters graduating from Teacher’s College. I volunteered with each of them several times in both Canada and the USA, during my summer breaks.
When my church in Budapest needed extra hands, I happily volunteered in the children`s ministry.
I have my Child Care Level 1 and Home and Health Care Diploma and have completed a practicum in a foster care (with babies). I have attained a certificate in Calgary called “Prevent it” that provides insight in preventing child abuse.
Recently I have worked in child care at a local gym and also in after school programs for children with CP.
