One evening at a dinner party one of our good friends posed the question to the group "What would you do if you won the lotto for $10 million today?". Everybody in the group was quick to rattle off loans they would pay off, things they would buy for themselves and loved ones, trips they would take and charities they would support. Most importantly, they all said "I would quit my job tomorrow! ". I was the only one at the table who said I would do all the same things except I wouldn't quit my job. I said I would invest in my veterinary practise and continue practising. Anybody who knows me would not be even a little bit surprised by my response. I absolutely love what I do and have never felt like I have worked a day in my life. Until that dinner party, I had not realized what a gift I had, to love my work.
I want to spend the remainder of my career practising in my own community and contributing something back to this wonderful group of people who have shaped this lovely rural neighbourhood. Our community is a joy to live in, a paradise for our children and full of people who love animals as much as I do.

Murray stopped in for a social call to show us how happy and healthy he is! This time last year he was literally on the brink of death from severe pancreatitis so we are thrilled to see him bright eyed and bushy tailed to kick off 2019!!💕💕

Happy Holidays! As is tradition, the clinic will be closed from December 23rd and will reopen January 2nd to allow us to spend some time with our families and return refreshed in the New Year to better care for your pets. During this time, we will be referring emergencies to VCA Guardian Veterinary Centre (780-436-5880).
❤️❤️UPdATE: we’ve found his family❤️❤️. Mr White showed up at one of our client’s homes looking for some dinner - he seems lost and hungry. His ear tattoo says Mr White. We are looking for his family to reunite them for the holidays. Please share and help us find Mr White’s family ❤️🥗
Nobody likes to wake up alone from anesthesia so we have cuddlers for all types! Beaker, one of our new resident cats, takes his cuddling job very seriously!💕💕
Update: ❤️Ringo has found his new home❤️. Thankyou to everyone who offered to take him!
Ringo is one of our patients and he urgently needs a new home. His family is moving into an indoor cats only home and he is not an indoor kinda guy. He loves cuddles, kids, dogs, other cats and mousing❤️. If anybody might have a spot for him please contact us at the clinic 780-662-2227. Thanks!!

Marley & Ed & Jasper & Rally & Lucy have all donated a spay or neuter at Hastings Lake Animal Hospital to a pet in need this season just by showing up for their annual exams and lab work :) Dr. Dani and Dr. Karen and their team will do the rest! We're very proud of these pets (they were very brave!) and their owners. Now five pets from the Camrose and Area Animal Shelter Society will be spayed or neutered to help them find a home. Let's see how many more pets we can donate a spay or neuter to before December 22nd!
