Helix Health Science Research Opportunities

Helix Health Science Research Services seeks to target eager and innovative youth that are interested in the field of health science research.

We are a group of motivated students who attend Western Canada High School in Calgary, Alberta. Joined together by our common interest in biology and advancements in health research, we recognized the potential of our fellow peers in making a change in the field of health sciences and were inspired to create a non-profit organization in the form of Helix to connect youth to local professors and innovators to allow them to explore topics within health research that appeal to their interests and promotes their curiosity. Selected applicants will be matched to a sponsor who will explore details of their desired research topic and discuss how the experiments will be conducted over the course of the summer months. A finalized report of the findings of the lab will conclude the research process. We hope that through this experience, youth will gain an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a researcher, as well as get a head start on improving their future research in the field of health sciences.
