Heroes Hockey Challenge

About Heroes Hockey Challenge

Calgary Flames Alumni will face-off against Canadian Armed Forces members in a live hockey game at the Max Bell Centre. An inspirational cocktail gala will be held at the Military Museums the evening before the game. Special guests at the Gala will include serving and former active members of Canada's Army, well-known celebrities, Calgary Flames Alumni players, coaches and their wives, and civic leaders from the Calgary community. In previous years, the Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, Vancouver Canucks and Toronto Maple Leafs have generously assembled and led teams of their Alumni to play off against teams of soldiers and vets. This year, the Calgary Flames has again offered their support as the official HHC game partner. The HHC Warriors team will be made up of currently serving soldiers from the PPCLI and associated Regiments. Many have served in multiple tours in war zones around the world, including Bosnia and Afghanistan. Heroes Hockey Challenge (HHC) is a series of charitable fundraising events which take place annually in communities across Canada. The mission is to raise awareness and needed funds for the benefit of those who serve: military members and their families, veterans, the wounded and the fallen. Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry (PPCLI) Foundation and The Military Museums Foundation (TMM) have partnered together to bring the annual event to Calgary. All funds raised will support programs led by both organizations. The Hockey Hall of Fame has kindly made available the Stanley Cup for both the HHC 2018 Gala and Game.
