Higher Health Pregnancy Care

Lisa Barter is excited to be the new nurse practitioner at the Higher Health Pregnancy Care. She recently graduated with her Masters in Nursing: Nurse Practitioner where she received the Dean's award for her academic excellence and leadership in the program. Lisa also works as a registered nurse between the Labor and Delivery and the Emergency Department at the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre. The previous nurse practitioner of Higher Health Pregnancy Care, Diane, has been a great mentor to Lisa where they worked together on the Labor and Delivery unit. Working at the NLRHC alongside wonderful nurses and physicians has provided the tools and experience to assist her in providing quality patient-centred care to her patients. Lisa was born and raised in Fort McMurray with her family of three sisters and large extended family. The framework of Higher Health Pregnancy Clinic advocates for personalized pregnancy care, which incorporates family into each visit, which Lisa believes, is integral to holistic health. Collaboration with health care professionals and the practitioners of Higher Health Clinic promotes a balance of holistic and medical management of patients, improving pregnancy outcomes and patient satisfaction.
