We’re Craig and Kathy Copeland. Together we’ve hiked more than 61, 000 km (38, 000 mi) through wildlands worldwide. We’ve been writing hiking guidebooks since 1992, and blogging about hiking since 2009. Our book sales exceed 178, 500 copies as of December, 2014.
We create unique guidebooks—intelligent, entertaining, opinionated—that ensure you make the most of your precious time outdoors.
Our company, hikingcamping.com, publishes most of our titles, including "Don’t Waste Your Time in the Canadian Rockies, the Opinionated Hiking Guide" (all-new 7th edition available spring 2015), and "Heading Outdoors Eventually Leads Within, Thoughts Inspired by 30, 000 Miles on the Trail. " Wilderness Press / Keen Communications publishes our book "Hiking from Here to Wow: Utah Canyon Country. "
Our chief goal in our books and our blog is to inspire others to hike, usher them onto especially rewarding trails, and open them to the full spectrum of fulfillment that hiking affords. For us personally, hiking is a practice. We’re devoted to it just as others are devoted to yoga or meditation practice.
