About Home Of Hope

Home of Hope is a non-profit organization based in Red Deer, Alberta that is helping thousands of children and orphans in Rwanda, Kenya, DR Congo, Malawi and India. They rescue abandoned and neglected children, providing feeding programs as well as sponsorship, and send hundreds of young people to school. Home of Hope also helps young mothers with microloans, giving them the ability to start small businesses to support their families. (Find out more at their website under the "Projects" tab. )Founder Brian Thomson started Home of Hope when he was in Rwanda in 2006 and met a desperate family of four children. A twelve-year-old girl was trying to care for her three younger siblings; their father had died of AIDS and their mother was in the hospital, dying of the same disease. Brian immediately began to personally support that family, and determined to do whatever he could to help others in similar circumstances. (Note: Brian has never taken a salary from donations. ) With Brian's amazing heart to help people in a positive and effective way, Home of Hope has expanded from those first four children to over 10, 000 every month who now have the opportunity to break the cycle of poverty.
