This house, turned pub is one of the best places in the city. Ggreat for chatting over a pint

The eclectic house turned into brew pub causes flashbacks of college when you enter. The odors instantly carry you back in time to your previous life as a college student with alcohol infused late nights, parties, and good friends. The bottles along the wall offers a brewery aficionado to relive travel adventures and the brews that highlighted those adventures.

We were here a few weeks ago and having a great time! I showed up a bit late but the girls had been there for a few hours and we went down to get a beer, the girls at the bar were really nice and let us know it was last call. Within 10 minutes an older man was flipping chairs upstairs around us and he started getting really upset. Telling us we needed to get out and that he was waiting for us to leave so he could go home. We politely asked if we could finish our almost full beers quickly and he told us that maybe we shouldn't order so many beers so late in the night. He then took away a full beer on the table that our friend left and started getting more agrressive yelling at us to get out. Legally, we knew we had one hour after last call to finish our beers and we tried to explain that to him but he was completely rude and wouldn't listen. We were just sitting upstairs, playing a game and spending money, not being overly obnoxious and he continued screaming for us to get out!

BIZZARE encounter with owner (??)...
I visited Hop In Brew for the first time EVER a few weeks ago and I was so excited about it. I loved the atmosphere, was having a great time with a friend of mine and we had good rapport with the staff. After we finished up, we decided to explore the house since it was my first time and we walked upstairs and saw the pool tables, etc and the decor. Then as we headed downstairs we kept going down because I wanted to see the basement. We didn't even GET to the bottom stair (which only then did I realize wasn't more eating/drinking area, but rather storage) and this old man began to yell at us to get out. There was NO signage to deter us from going downstairs, my friend had to use the washroom and assumed it might be down there, and it was FULLY LIT. This man assumed the worst and I felt quite a bit of prejudice from him as his first instinct was to yell. My friend and I calmly explained we didn't know it was off limits and we wouldn't have gone if there was a sign, and we apologized. We proceeded to leave the restaurant and when we walked out the door realized this man had FOLLOWED us out and said "Yeah, don't ever come back here again." We were in disbelief and asked what he had said, to which he again stated "I said, never come back!". I am absolutely shocked. Did this man assume we were going to steal something or damage property? We weren't even drunk or rowdy... and we had a very enjoyable time up until this point. Not too stoked on this and I hope I never see this man again, as I would like to visit this establishment again at some point.

Really cool place. Has a great beer selection and staff are knowledgeable. Can be cramped and has a small serving area but that kind of adds to the atmosphere in my opinion.

I've only been able to go here once, but I enjoyed it a lot. Good beer selection, helpful staff, and good tunes playing.

Wonderful like pub. Great anytime of the day. Good drinks, good food. Great atmosphere.

Best place in town. Chill and not super loud which is nice when catching up with friends. Pizza is really good as well

User

Incredible pizza. Super friendly staff. Unpretentious environment. And one of the best curated craft beer offerings in the city.

User

Great little local pub in an old house in the beltline. They only serve local craft beers. Great nachos. Can get pretty packed some nights but it feels like your friends house party almost.

User

Great beer selection, cool atmosphere in a house converted to a pub, ok food (pretty much only nachos or pizza).

User

Boutique pub with a small selection, but cozy atmosphere. Pizza is some of the Best I've ever had.

Have been here a few times. One of the few bars where you can actually hear the conversation going on at the table. Has a chill atmosphere being built in an old two story house, with billiards and foosball upstairs. The beer is good but a bit pricey.

Great vibe. Great beers (a bit expensive, but hey) and AMAZING pizza. Totally recommend grabbing a goldspur and sitting on the upstairs balcony on a nice summer day. Enjoy!
