Went here with a friend last night before the PBR. Service was awesome (our server was friendly, and checked on us often), beer cold, nachos cheesy. Very impressed with service as it appeared there were only 2 servers and 1 bartender and the place was full. I'll be back for sure, need to try the wings, I hear they're good.

User

New to Inglewood just moved here lived in Calgary almost 4 yrs but never been to the hose and hound had lunch with my daughter and her husband and my youngest son food was great and beer was cold staff was excellent will go again sometime

User

It was a great time, good food, cold beers, fantastic staff, parking. It did help that I used to be a fireman. Great spot.

User

I moved to Calgary about 3 months ago, completely alone. I had a night off work and decided to pop into the Hose for a beer and some wings (as I was told 'Wing Wednesday' is a weekly tradition in cowtown!) Well, let's just say that I went in as the new guy in town but came out feeling like I had a family! Jamie behind bar made sure I was kept topped up whilst also recommending new beers to try - all with a gorgeous smile :) Then there was Nicole who, despite being rushed off her feet serving, still made the time to stop and make me feel welcome. Cheryl was an absolute delight too. A HUGE kudos to the kitchen staff who clearly put a lot of love into their work as the food is phenomenal (Arsonist Wings - undoubtedly the hottest yet tastiest wings in Calgary!) Sure, the food is a little pricy, but I've never paid for a meal there and not felt it was worth every penny. Since then, I have returned to the Hose and Hound every week in order to hang out with staff and regulars who I'd be very comfortable calling family. I'm actually moving out of Inglewood next week and knowing that the incredible staff, the delicious food and the all-round warming atmosphere of the Hose is no longer going to be at the end of my street, makes me very sad. Still, at least I know that after a half-hour trek through tough Alberta winter, there'll be a pint and a smile waiting for me when I get there.

So I'm raising my glass to the Hose and Hound - my slice of home, away from home!

User

I LOVE IT!!! Back again chicken was so delicious

User

Great place! Last night was very busy and the service was still good. Awesome food and live music on the patio. :)

User

Awesome place and great live entertainment! Food is good as well.

User

Went for the 1st time with my friend who was visiting from Red Deer. We shared potato skins and the fish and chips and we both have to say it was one of the best fish and chip meals we've ever had!! I will be back

User

Great food friendly staff great service defenitely will be back

User

Great food and drink. The service was ok, which is par for the course in Calgary.

Got the club which I recommend without hesitation, and the accompanying side of fries were very good as well. It's tough to make fries stand out, but they do it.

Eat here, you'll like it.

User

Food was amazing. Service was a bit slow but it was a Friday night and the place was packed, so I suppose that's somewhat understandable.

Bartender Mark was super nice. Live tunes sounded great.

User

Waitress dropped of my food and never saw her again until I wanted to pay for my food, which was under cooked and soggy, but wait... who could I tell? No one. Should have went somewhere else.

User

Place looks great with the Reno completed, love the patio. The drinks are good as well as the company. I personally find the menu a bit pricey and the food just ok. I've been here about 4 times and the food was the same every time.

User

Chicken sandwich was pretty good, but the salad was not fresh, brown, rubbery and found a fly in it. Replacement wasn't much better. Great spot, but need to step up service/freshness.

User

i enjoyed the new look, but i think they should put more of the old history back on the walls. looking around i found the walls to be very plain with no detail, in my opinion i would like to see my historical features of the old fire hall and the surrounding area.

User

First time going since the re-open... we wanted to sit out in the sun with an umbrella but the wind kept pulling it out of the table since it wasn't secured in with anything. We seated ourselves and the waitress didn't come give us menus for at least 7 minutes... once she came she took our drink order. I had a Caesar and my girlfriend had the margarita. My Caesar was very good... garnished and seasoned appropriately and great rimmer. My girlfriend who loves margaritas couldn't even finish hers she said it was disgusting (I don't like them so didn't try it).

She eventually came back for our food order. It was taco Tuesday so we decided to get a basket of tacos ... we also got the spinach dip and calamari. The food was very average to say the least: the tacos were awful... I took two bites and didn't even finish mine. It was a huge shell with a tiny bit of chicken. It had a bit of melted cheese that they bake onto the shell before stuffing it (which sounds good in theory, however by time we got them it was already hard). The taco was filled to the brim with lettuce and had a tiny bit of tomatoes on them... nothing else.... not any sause at all. It basically tasted like a shell with lettuce. The spinach dip was alright... basically tasted like the stuff you'd get in the container at the grocery store with corn chips on the side. The last thing we ordered was the calamari which again was pretty average, and tasted like it does it most restaurants. One good thing is uoubdo get a decent amount of food on each plate.

On a side note I was looking at the nachos on the menu... seeing as they were $20 I assumed they would be large and with lots of toppings. The table beside us got them and both them and us were shocked when they came out. It was a small plate of nachos with a small layer of cheese and toppings.... TWENTY DOLLARS! And cost extra to add guac!

The waitress was nice and friendly but was waiting all the outside tables basically alone and took a lot time to take orders and bring the bill!

I live in inglewood so I'm sure I'll be back but would not recommend this place if you're driving and looking for somewhere to go! They need to step on their game!

User

Went for the first time today around 2pm. The menu is very basic yet overpriced. The service was slow, disorganized and rude. Server wanted us to order our drinks yet didn't tell us any specials. Ordered drinks and then waited again for a food menu. Finally got it and found out that the Pizza Sunday they had on the banner was for a specific time period and only personal pizzas with minimal toppings. Didn't even bother. Waited yet again for a debit machine. Paid for our 2 drinks and left. Honestly, in the 20 years I've lived in Calgary, this was the worst experience I've had. It's ok as a local watering hole but that's about it. Won't be returning.

User

I wouldn't go back here on account of the really rude service. The server, who had Trump levels of fake tan and home kit black dyed hair, was obviously hungover. Then we watched her giggle and fawn over a table of her friends. her smile faded into an expression of annoyance when she had to serve us. Ignorant, trashy and... Trashy. The food wasn't good enough to make me want to take my chances again, sorry

User

Good food good staff i wouldnt wanna work here if u want a job they dont take the time to train new people in the kitchen i was let go cuz i wasnt fast enough and i talked to much the kitchen staff is bullshit

Place looks great with the Reno completed, love the patio. The drinks are good as well as the company. I personally find the menu a bit pricey and the food just ok. I've been here about 4 times and the food was the same every time.

Chicken sandwich was pretty good, but the salad was not fresh, brown, rubbery and found a fly in it. Replacement wasn't much better. Great spot, but need to step up service/freshness.

i enjoyed the new look, but i think they should put more of the old history back on the walls. looking around i found the walls to be very plain with no detail, in my opinion i would like to see my historical features of the old fire hall and the surrounding area.

Good food good staff i wouldnt wanna work here if u want a job they dont take the time to train new people in the kitchen i was let go cuz i wasnt fast enough and i talked to much the kitchen staff is bullshit

New to Inglewood just moved here lived in Calgary almost 4 yrs but never been to the hose and hound had lunch with my daughter and her husband and my youngest son food was great and beer was cold staff was excellent will go again sometime

It was a great time, good food, cold beers, fantastic staff, parking. It did help that I used to be a fireman. Great spot.

Great place! Last night was very busy and the service was still good. Awesome food and live music on the patio. :)

Food was amazing. Service was a bit slow but it was a Friday night and the place was packed, so I suppose that's somewhat understandable.

Bartender Mark was super nice. Live tunes sounded great.
