Good Morning San die... I mean Edmonton!! Awaking to a beautiful day today. time to get tons more work on the music festival. Today I think I'll be focusing on workshops and on food trucks along with getting a couple quotes. I found out we can actually rent bathroom trailers as opposed to porta pottys. what's everyone think of said idea?

... Rille Ataka is a three piece progressive power trio from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada that writes music that pushes the creative and musical boundaries. They began their music together when attending MacEwan University's music program. With similar interests and musical goals, the band formed in order to dive into music that none of the members had a creative outle t to play in.
The heart and soul of Rille ataka is keeping things grooving even when there is complexity in rhythms and harmony. The influence of the band ranges from jazz to metal to r&B to funk to Neo-Soul and Hip Hop. This diverse range of influence helps to create unique character in their musical sound.

Tonight our Artist spotlight points at the band Desperado Pilots
Genre: Alternative Rock
... Before there were the Pilots, there were two long-time friends sharing a passion for music. Lead singer/songwriter Philip Beaton and drummer Nick Bailie started a two-man project as a way to push each other musically, and to strive for more. With a handful of songs under their belts and the heat of a creative spark forcing them on, Nick Bailie enlisted the help of his friend and bassist Brady Angus to join the project. The chemistry was instant, but the boys agreed that something was still missing. When Brady invited his friend and guitarist Nelson Lemay to a practice one fateful night, the Desperado Pilots were born.
Taking inspiration from all forms of music, the style of Desperado Pilots comes from a blend of various and, at times, polarized influences; all filtered through the unique voice of Philip Beaton and the wet, distorted guitar tones that he grew up with. Idolizing the great modern rock bands of our time like Queens of the Stone Age, Arctic Monkeys, and Muse, this is a band that finds rock music at it's best when it has one foot in the fringe and one in the mainstream. It's a mark they are trying to hit with their debut EP "EL(EP)HANT", a three-song romp through the serene, the abrasive, and the groovy. Slightly tongue-in-cheek lyrics, with strange imagery and messages of hope in times of despair will lead you through massive walls of electric guitars, smooth bass and thunderous drums.
Just weird enough to raise an eyebrow, rocking enough to get down with, and honest enough to believe in, Desperado Pilots are taking on the world.

"Trying to find and capture the perfect sounds in a world full of noise. Using make-up and a uniform of all black, Joikill presents a character for his music to manifest. Original productions that escape from Joikill always consist of influences that range anywhere from moombahton, to Glitch. Electro to Dubstep. Emotionally, the music doesn't seem to be pigeonholed in a particular setting. Going from uplifting party anthem to dark, broody bass music. As his live mixes also portray, moving effortlessly from one genre to the next, laying down a sonic storybook of sorts."
The live setting that Joikill portrays is that of a house party; sweaty, violent, and unforgettable.

The co-founding members Coco Lee (Lead Guitarist, Vocalist, Programmer, Composer) and Tyler Franco (Drummer, Vocalist) started playing music together in the early 00's, and their chemistry and vision can be felt, heard and seen through all they do and embody. Through member changes and much uncertainty, Eternal Prophecy has come back full force in 2015 with their debut EP. The founding members are setting out to create something that they feel hasn't been seen or experienced within the realm of modern metal.
Taking influence from every era of music - both old and new - Eternal Prophecy wishes to put forth an audio/visual spectacle that captivates and entices the audience. They seek to take the listener on a journey; taking them into a whole new world created by the music, art and atmosphere of each performance.

Rumspringer aka Clinton Needham// has been a force to reckon with; in the Alberta bass music scene. Prior to playing at most of Edmonton & surrounding area venues, you could find him throwing 1000 person bush parties for him & his friends. Over the years he has shared stages with the likes of The Chainsmokers, Rusko, Doctor P, Snails, AC Slater, Downlink & many more. His most memorable shows to date have been performing with Steve Aoki & Dillon Francis at Soundwave’s & traveling to Winnipeg to play at Wet Electric Music Festival.
