Ijaz Rehman has been supplying fine carpets to Calgary homes since 1982. Since he moved back to Lahore, Pakistan in 1991, he has been returning to Calgary once or twice per year for a special sale of high quality carpets that have been finding their way into the homes of Ijaz' friends. As of 2008, he returned to Pakistan permanently and continues to send carpets to his Calgary-based partners - Ted and Valerie Fitch – who are set up to continue to display and sell Ijaz' oriental carpets.

Ijaz' advantage of living year-round in the center of one of the world’s great carpet regions has allowed him to individually select the finest quality carpets that are produced; and then to personally supervise the washing, trimming and finishing of each carpet to ensure that all are at the highest standard possible. He proudly states that now there is no other dealer in the world, be it New York, London or Tokyo, who can match the quality of his overall selection, and even though the prices in those cities are much, much higher than he charges.

As he says, “I pride myself that my friends and customers in Calgary are the luckiest carpet buyers in the world for three reasons”:

- weaving quality: I personally select only the very best carpets that are made from each region even the less expensive ones.

- finishing: I have all the carpets finished (washing, snipping, fringe knots and carpet edges) to a higher standard than anybody else in the world will provide.

- price: my prices are much lower than anyone else will offer.
