Went to Ikea this past Sunday and it was my first time there since the redesign inside. I had no idea where anything was anymore and needed to find a few specific items. I showed 3 separate employees pictures on my phone and they were able to immediately direct me to the item perfectly! I was very impressed. Way to go Ikea!!

User

This was my first time in Ikea, I loved the place. We meant a friend and had supper and are meeting friends there tomorrow morning for breakfast as well. The assortment of furniture and decor is excellent. When I get back home I will visit the one closer to where I live in Ontario.

User

The staff are very helpful, and although its easy to get lost and loose direction it was nice to have staff point you back on track.

User

The Swedish meatballs are on point. Hands down worth the drive from north side to get them.

User

Never had an issue with this store. Been going there for years. I think most of these bad reviews are from attention seekers.

This store is amazing and always staff there to greet you and ask if you need help. I was never NOT approached by an employee there.

Cheap food menu and great cafe and frozen foods. Got a hot pink duvet cover from ikea and its great.

Very good quality stuff here

User

Luv IKEA...so many things to see and buy..luv how everything is set up by rooms for ideas

And we eat lunch there every time we go

Only issue we had was ..wished people would follow the arrows ...when they don't there's people going everywhere

User

In May we picked up the small shoe storage cupboard for ones doorway. To day we are picking another up. They are the smartest item I have purchased for our house. I changed out the knobs for crystal knobs, making it the jewel of our entrance. Highly recommend for anyone that is tired of all the shoes at the door. Plus the drawer is great for scarves, gloves, mitts, etc. Do not advise to store keys in the draw as it is an invite to anyone who might break in to search garage, etc.

User

Great.Fixed my problems.Very nice to work with thru Face Book

User

Awesome. I could live at IKEA. Such nice things for great prices. Though they should do a buy one get one half off, or buy two get the third for free type deal for chairs etc. I need to buy some new dressers, can't wait to go back and get two of them.

User

Went in, got a cart. Marketplace was right there. Convenient as I was there to acquire window coverings and look at bedding. Was in and out in 45 minutes. Staff was helpful. Parking was easy. Friday morning is the time to go.

User

Really like the funiture but the new cross bars are so hard to install... they told me in store to make sure that the screws were straight but that didnt even work... very frustrating.

User

I like the candy bins ! Hahahaha !!!

We shopped for cubby hole wall units ... 2 . One in high gloss one in regular , both white color . The high gloss was misplaced , finally found it ourselves . Left with what we needed.

User

we went on Friday 2nd Feb 2018 ... it was a lovely place .. the café was great with good food .... but whilst there my 7 year old son came out covered in insect bites which he never had when we went in. which was a shame.

User

Went with my kids so they could pick up a deck set for there patio and I decided to have a couple hot dogs at the checkout. I have never been served Luke warm hot dogs before and I don't think I'll be trying them again any time soon I should have gone for the meatballs at least they serve those hot.

User

We got there just after it opened. We went right to what we were going to buy as I checked online first. Online does not tell you which mattresses you need for bunk beds. I stood at the information desk for about 10 minutes even though there were two people there and only one helping. All he did was print off the mattress selection, which I had on my phone already. Then when we went to pay, there was only one cashier and a long line. She was also being trained as he was standing beside here. You don't train on weekends as it adds stress to the new employee.

User

The new seating plan on the main floor is not very user friendly for families. We went thwre with a family and mother in a wheel chair and had a hard time finding a table with chairs to sit and eat our hot dogs. Theres very limited seating.

User

Omg this is absolutely ridiculous bought a bedrooms from Ikea headboard railings dresser and tv stand made an appointment for them to put the dresser together an extra 80 dollars now it bad enough that I had to take a day off work because they could only give me an 8 hr time line anywhere between 9-5 it is now 5;30 now you tell me that that's the best they could do and still not make it in an 8 hr period the store is fine do not get them to assist you with putting the furniture together better off getting some one off kijjiji or just face book going on now to 9 hr wait period

User

I really hate your floorplan. Walking through your store to find one thing is like playing tennis while using an egg instead of a tennis ball... quite pointless. I think I'll shop elsewhere next time.

User

I bought kitchen cabinets for cabin. Was trying to get through the till so we cld pick up same day. So in a bit of a rush. I realized afterwards I didn't use my IKEA rewards card. So disappointed that the sales person didn't ask me for it. I can only assume IKEA doesn't want members to use it.

User

All in all was a productive visit. Got our vanity and a few plants and had a couple hot dogs. Would be nice if they had more people to help you load your items. Some of that stuff is very heavy and lofting it could be a hazard... Should have a help button on wall outside or something so you can call and ask for help.

User

The worst thing was after four hours of wondering through that godforsaken store, (which I call the seventh level of hell) we finally decided on what cupboards we wanted, we needed 10 of them and three of the matching ones, we get down to the warehouse and they are all gone!!!!

If we had known there were none available we would've chosen some different ones. But we were sure as hell not gonna go all the way back up and through that whole store again! So we just went home empty-handed..... 😡😡😡😡

User

The store itself is well kept, always clean. Went to the cafeteria and had a fantastic lunch. Only reason I gave such a low rating is that it took 30+ mins for my order to be picked for pickup. The parts I was waiting for were 2 pieces that were both smaller than my thumbs. In my eyes there is zero reason why such a small order should take that long (and there were only 3 orders on the board including mine). I literally watched as a handful of orders that came after mine got picked and released before mine was even looked at.

User

The 2 stars are because I absolutely love ikea. But for this store they lose for the customer service. It's horrible. They are all so rude and talk to you like your stupid. I've been here a few times in the last 2 years and it's the same time every time!!! Hire some new staff please!!

User

I went in the evening after seven pm. Not a lot of staff around to help. I had some questions about led lights and am thing of replacing all of mine. I wanted to find warm ones that were daylight not the ones that give a yellowish harsh light. Seeing there was no staff member in that department I decided to leave. I'll try another day when there is someone in that department who can help me. On the positive side I was able to find Daim candies. So my trip wasn't a wasted one.

User

We went and parked to find out there was a nail in our tire. Next to more nails.

Had to drive to a garage to have it fix (out of regular hours) and had to rent a car since we are not from Edmonton.

Went back with the rental car, parked on the OTHER side of the parking lot, and we got another freaking nail in a tire!

Taking care of your customers means also to clean up your freaking parking lot! Not cool!

Unfortunately I have had a very bad experience with the Edmonton IKEA's delivery service. My spouse and I waited at home for the whole window of time we were given on our delivery day for our new sofa and mattress and nobody arrived. Upon calling IKEA to inquire about what had happened, we were informed the agent must have entered my phone number incorrectly. The delivery had shown up but could not get a hold of me (due to the incorrect phone number). Due to my full time job and my spouse working up north, we were not able to reschedule until February 8th, 11 days later. For 11 days, I have been sleeping on the floor due to the lack of a mattress. Unfortunately, this appointment on the 8th does not work with our schedules any longer as my spouse works in Oil & Gas and his shift was extended. Upon calling to reschedule - we were told we now have to pay a fee, despite me explaining the error they had made originally. Furthermore, my phone number was STILL wrong and they would have been calling an invalid phone number tomorrow also. I am very, very disappointed with this service and furious I am still without my furniture and sleeping on the floor.

User

Tried to have a decently priced lunch yesterday. There were multiple signs all over showing soup and sandwhich for $4. The cashier would not charge me that. She called her supervisor and he said it was not possible and I had to pay a higher price. Ummm. You cannot advertise a price and charge something else for no reason! Eventually I paid because I was embarrassed about holding up the line.

Took my 3 years old yesterday to #ikea 's play zone . after taking him I saw a red trace in his hand I wanted to be back to ask them whats happened but I have a three month old who his craying and a bit ill, when I asked my son who did that to you he said " a baby hurted me" if they are not able to take care of our kids why do they promise to do that my baby was really sad although I hoped that he will be happy and excited I was thinking to send him to a daycare but after that no till he will be able to defense him self !!! This location is chronically poorly stocked. Some of their special summer only items haven’t even arrived yet and it’s mid July! Have checked stock numbers online or called ahead, drove two hours only to find out that they don’t have 100 of something, they have none. Super frustrating.

User

Their cupboards might seem like a good idea. But don't do it!!!! By the time you pay for them, pick them up and install them yourself, you'd be just as well to pay a professional. Not even 6 years and they look like garbage now and Ikea won't take any responsibility for it. So you'll be stuck with garbage.

User

Ridiculous service... Kitchen cabinets have full service which means they pick the items for you. I ordered 1 item and 30 min later my order is still in received queue... ikea you need more staff or allow customers to pick up themselves like all other products. Total time spent to buy one item shall not be hours... pathetic

User

Ordered 2 tables online FedEx said label created on Monday delivery on Friday now took the day off work nothing came trying to cancel my order there telling me I'll loose my delivery fee last time I order anything from Ikea I could have ordered from the USA and get it sooner

Ikea Edmonton discriminates against special needs children. Upon hearing my child was special needs they made every excuse possible to not allow him to play. Even asking if he would be violent against the other children. Store manager didn't help. Customer relations manager offered us an ice cream after adding her own discrimination and making things worse. Disgusting behavior from this store.

User

I went up to Edmonton yesterday to purchase a dresser and some other things for our new home. I ended up finding a great dresser in the AS IS section! Woo hoo! It was already assemble as it was a show piece but I was okay with it. Anyway we needed a hand loading it onto the cart as my friend and I were too weak to get it up there. Everytime I approached a staff member they would walk away from me (even if they seen me wave or walk up to them). Finally someone nice employee helped us get it onto a cart and he told us that if we need a hand dissembling it or if we need a hand loading it, let the cashier know and they can give us a tool kit and have someone come out. Well we were fine and could load it ourselves after realizing it wasn't as heavy as we assumed but it was a few inches too big to fit into my car. We tried to move it around and finally I went back into the store and waited in line at the customer exchange desk to ask for a tool kit. The lady rudely told me I needed to take a number before she would speak to me but another lady said she would give me a hand because I just needed to borrow the tools. I told her what was happening and she gave me a screw driver and told me how to dissemble it. Okay great but I actually needed a hammer or something to pull out nails as the dresser was already assembled and nailed together. Went back into the car and tried to pull it apart anyway and it still wouldn't' work so I ended up calling the store and asking if they could send someone out to help and the gentleman told me that employees aren't allowed to help dissemble it. Okay fine but at least tell me how to or give me a tool to do it. He told me I would have to go back into the store and go to customer exchanges and tell them exactly what I told him. I told him I had just done that and they gave me a the tool but not the correct one and he refused to help. He said employees can only help with dissembling at the discretion of that and they'll get reprimanded if they help. Eventually after an HOUR of trying to get this dresser into my vehicle, we ended up having to pull the nails out with some tool I found, then we could get the dresser in. Thanks IKEA. I won't be coming back after the rude service I got and I bought a 90 dollar dresser that's essentially compressed cardboard and is already falling apart even though I've only had it for a day.

User

I used the click and collect service and the staff at the pick up counter were so rude, sighing, rolling eyes, argumentative and gave terrible service. We had plans for purchasing an entire entertainment centre and will be going elsewhere.

User

I scheduled an IKEA delivery and they forgot half my stuff (4 vallentuna couch units, ~$1,000 worth). Waited 1hr20min on the phone to talk to someone and was told I had to wait 5 business days for them to investigate where all those boxes went. I paid $100 in delivery specifically because those couch units would not fit in my car, if I'd known delivery would be so stressful I'd have just done 2 trips with the car. It's been 5 business days now and they haven't called me back, their customer service line is busy and auto hangs up on me, I have no idea where my couch units are, I'm out $1000, and they're not responding to emails either. IKEA, please get back to me.

User

I attended the Julbord dinner tonight. What can I say but a huge disappointment. We attended the dinner last year, and although we had to wait 45 min in line as the staff were not ready to serve, the dinner was well prepared and nicely decorated in a festive setting. We we so impressed that when the tickets came available on Eventbright, I jumped at the chance and even invited my mother in law. Huge mistake! Ikea must have fired everyone after last year, and hired a whole new crew.

This special event reminded me of my high school cafeteria days. With extremely long lineup (1 hour and 15 min wait.) The fact that I had pre registered had no effect on allowing walk ins ahead of my party. They ran out of pretty much everything by the time we arrived at the closed glass counter. Firstly, no plates. I questioned the head server, he told me that there were plates down by the hot food. So how did that help for the salad and desserts that came first IDK. He then realized that we may want plates for these items so he brought a small stack. I couldn't find a coffee cup, so I removed the empty plastic dish tray down to the next level myself and obtained a cup. We then proceeded down the line. Bread empty. Half the desserts were out. All that were in the case were frozen. Cheese tray had been devoured with just a few cheddar chunks left. Most salads, herrings, and pickles were near empty. Spinach salad had not been mixed properly with all the cheese at the bottom of the bowl . Never did find dressing. Lox, empty. No one served the hot food to the line of prepaid guests. The other line of regular customers were being served. Thus the spoons were all facing towards the kitchen and not accessible . One server dropped a spoon in the pasta sauce, said oops, then went away leaving a dirty spoon. Quality of food was poor as well. Minced turkey rounds were dried up. Meatballs were crusty. Quiche dried hockey pucks. Gravy gone. Soup empty. Some sort of cider empty. This was the situation and I looked back at the 50 people behind myself and wondered what they would be eating. Nothing festive about this event at all!!! Yes, I know, we should have quit the line about half way through and requested a refund, but we didn't. Hunger make a person impatient and not think clearly.

We then sat down at dirty tables and chairs, with our paltry pickings. At about 8 pm the line was shut down. In the seating area servers were cleaning up plates from other diners. We watched plate after plate of large amounts of unconsumed food go back to the kitchen. My daughter cried when she saw a princess cake go back to the kitchen with only one bite taken out of it. This is one thing she really wanted, but of course was one of the items gone early in the evening.

There was a nice violinist who soothed us savages beasts, but that was probably the only benefit of the evening.

All this to say, nope, never again. Won't recommend it! Gonna slam it!

User

Took my 3 years old yesterday to #ikea 's play zone . after taking him I saw a red trace in his hand I wanted to be back to ask them whats happened but I have a three month old who his craying and a bit ill, when I asked my son who did that to you he said " a baby hurted me" if they are not able to take care of our kids why do they promise to do that my baby was really sad although I hoped that he will be happy and excited I was thinking to send him to a daycare but after that no till he will be able to defense him self !!! Will never ever trust them and send my kid to their play zone

User

User

Ikea Edmonton discriminates against special needs children. Upon hearing my child was special needs they made every excuse possible to not allow him to play. Even asking if he would be violent against the other children. Store manager didn't help. Customer relations manager offered us an ice cream after adding her own discrimination and making things worse. Disgusting behavior from this store.
