According to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, as of 2011 about 40% of all food produced for human consumption in the developed world is discarded. At Hipster Nonsense, we try to make use of some of this ‘inglorious’ produce. We go to local producers and suppliers and buy all of their fruits and vegetables that would otherwise be wasted and use our combined 15 years of experience as chefs to preserve this bounty, creating a vast array of shelf stable goods. Not only does this system reduce food waste, it allows us to offer wholesome, nutritious products free of artificial fillers and preservatives for a low price.
