The Next Chapter
Over three years ago Cory and I became restaurant owners. We had next to no experience in this field, but we had determination and we acquired the tremendous support of the greater Priddis community. This venture has had its ups and downs but overall it has been a fantastic and rewarding experience for us.
Despite a depressed economy and ever-increasing expenses, we have been able to increase the gross revenue year over year to 2018 being on track to finish... with revenues over 50% higher than when we began.
Additionally; where food used only be 50% of the sales, it is now more than 66% of the total. This has greatly contributed to transforming it from a “bar” to a “neighbourhood, family friendly pub.”
The efforts of some fantastic staff members along with great loyal local patronage has allowed us to maintain that degree of sales growth. We have been able to create a comfortable, inclusive atmosphere for locals and travelers alike to enjoy food, cheer and company.
After much consideration (and very mixed feelings) we believe it’s time for fresh eyes and ideas for the business and we have decided to put it on the market. We want to try to ensure that we maintain and pass on the business as a functioning community hub and feel that it is best to do this transition while we still maintain the energy and ambition that brought us to where we are today.
Regardless of how long it may take to find a new owner, Cory and I will continue to operate and improve the business. We are very grateful for all the community support over the years and we treasure all the friendships we have made. Cory and I have often said, that living and working in Priddis, is the first time in our lives that we feel “part of something” – a community where friends and neighbors are always there for one another.
We are thankful for the community members and staff who have supported us in this venture.

Cory and I would like to thank all of our customers for sticking it out with us during this hot spell. We know it's been uncomfortable in the pub and cafe of late.
Over a week ago we had the air-conditioning "repaired", I use quotations since - if you have been in - you know it wasn't repaired. (Despite the huge cost)
We are working to get this resolved. We have an estimate for further repairs, but it is insanely high and from the same company that "repaired" it the first... time.
I've called several companies and they either don't do commercial units or they don't work outside of Calgary.
SO... if anyone knows of a competent commercial HVAC repair company - PLEASE send me their details.

The ever delightful Brooke recently scouted the cafe as the perfect setting for their project. Needless to say, I can't wait to see the finished production.

Rain has cleared and we are in for a beautiful day. Jane's is open, lots of parking, beat the rush.

Awesome breakfast at Jane’s in beautiful downtown Priddis (( awesome hamlet where you can get the BEST omelette cooked up by Chef Boy-ar-Dee Cory Morgan )). The Water’s Edge Bar & Grill next door is great also. A very short but enjoyable drive from the city and worth every minute to get there. Food is great, nice cosy atmosphere in rustic mini mall complete with hitching posts if ya need ‘em. This place is an injection of sanity to the busy life of the city. Often there are classic cars in the parking lot, always great food, good vibes, country music !! Be here or be square !!
