In 1952 several like-minded entrepreneurs assembled to form an organization representative of the business community. What better way to meet, greet and collaboratively work toward furthering the economic climate of Jasper while welcoming the world? While the name had changed to Jasper Tourism and Commerce for the better part of 3 decades, the basic premise of purpose has remained the same; the Jasper Park Chamber of Commerce remains a membership based organization relying on membership fees for the majority of its operating budget.

In 2009 with the formation of the Jasper Destination Marketing Corporation (JDMC), best known as Tourism Jasper, essentially assuming responsibility for marketing Jasper regionally, nationally and of course internationally, the Chamber was able to become a bona fide advocacy organization dedicated to working for and with business.

In light of its newly established mandate, the Chamber Executive and Board undertook to review and revise its structure to effectively establish and accomplish its next steps. The resulting committees commenced the arduous task of defining the roles and responsibilities of their particular committee and initiated tasks based on established priorities.

Today, after successfully representing hundreds of businesses over 60 years, the Jasper Park Chamber of Commerce is pleased to boast over 170 members and partnerships with local and federal government and other organizations to enhance Jasper as an exceptional place to live, work and play.

Under the auspices of the Chamber of Commerce, in 2001 the Robson House Historical Society was established to oversee the movement and renovation of the building to its present location at 409 Patricia Street. The Committee remains responsible for the maintenance and historical integrity of the building. In November of 2010 the final payment on the mortgage was made and the committee turned their focus toward maintenance. The Robson House Historical Society has been the beneficiary of silent auction funds raised at Small Business and Ambassador Awards Galas and remains a beloved building in Jasper's core as well as fixture on the historical tour circuit.
