Jeanne & Peter Lougheed Performing Arts Centre Description
Built within a collaborative framework
Jeanne & Peter Lougheed Performing Arts Centre is a unique performing arts venue located on the beautiful, historic University of Alberta’s’ Augustana Campus in the heart of the province.
The facility was built through the collaborative efforts of the City of Camrose and the University of Alberta. It was conceived of as a performance space to celebrate our cultural achievements and provide access to the performing arts for the community.
Built with the community in mind.
The overall design for the building included a great deal of attention not only to what the community was envisioning for the space but also towards sustainability for the future. The theatre is home to the largest integrated photovoltaic array, (solar panels), which blanket the entire 70’fly-tower, including the North face, and is the first theatre in North America to use entirely LED lighting, including the stage lights, on the interior and exterior of the building. Built to accommodate performances and events; big or small
The Cargill Theatre seats 580 on two sloped floors, yet retains an intimacy which will provide audiences with a closer connection to the artist and provide the artist an opportunity to connect on a deeper level with the audience. The sound, lighting and projection systems are state of the art and will provide every visitor, in every seat a memorable live performance experience
The Mayer Family Community Hall provides alternative space for many different kinds of events. The hall, which also boasts a sprung floor, can be configured to accommodate between 135 and 200 people seated, either at tables or theatre style. It can be used for smaller scale performances, receptions, conferences, or rehearsals. This is a space which can be rented and configured to suit any need!

The theatre is a proud declaration of who the city is today and who they want to be moving into the future.

Over the years, Aaron built a local reputation as a dynamic performer with a rock solid portfolio of songs. With that success buoying his confidence, he started to make trips down to Nashville to test the waters in country music’s Mecca. After signing with publishing powerhouse Warner Chappell Music, Aaron scored his first major league contribution with “Out Like That” on Luke Bryan’s multi-platinum album Crash My Party. That kind of calling card gets you invited in to a lot ...of writing sessions, but Aaron had other ideas about his place in the music world.
Aaron’s versatility and passion for writing and performing is second to none. Aaron has a natural ability to light up a stage, connect with his audience, and deliver a show-stopping performance, whether it’s a small intimate gathering or a crowd of thousands.

It's an awesome stage to perform on. A fun place to volunteer at. So many performances to see and enjoy.
It's like mini Hollywood with all those people going in and out with their suitcases.
I've seen a handful of shows there and always enjoyed myself. Recently they however went so above and beyond in helping me. The customer service and attention they gave me was so exceptional! They made me a hero in my boys eyes! Can't ask for much more!!
I enjoy every moment spent in that place. The performances takes me to a different place. I smile from ear to ear once I step feet in the building. Happy place to be.
Gorgeous building, lovely staff. I went to Artrageous and it was fantastic. Awesome show, beautiful grounds, so spacious and clean. Definitely will be going again.
Beautiful theatre and friendly staff! Highly recommend :)
