Here is a Ten Tree update for everyone!
Drum roll please.....40,790 trees, this means, together with your help, our store alone has helped to plant this many trees!!!
Just wanted to share an update on our Madagascar planting site with you. Your trees are making a significant difference to the eco system and communities we plant in.
... The density of these trees and the change they create in the areas they are planted is hard to convey through a photo. The individuals that you can see holding the "face signs" up are each about 5'10 meaning the trees are likely between 8 - 12 feet tall. Underneath the foliage is an incredibly dense root structure that holds the soil stable, serves as protection for fish hatcheries, and absorbs more CO2 than almost any other tree species. Mangrove trees aren't meant to grow overly tall, rather, they are meant to grow strong and thick in the space they have. Because of this, these trees will protect villages for generations to come from waves, erosion, and more. The video here does an excellent job illustrating this.
