Jilly Beans Before& After School Care for children who are in Grades one and up.
I also offer drop in care for families that need care here and there. Drop in Fee is $10. 00 /hour per child.

ABOUT ME
Hi, my name is Jill, but all the kids call me Jilly bean! I live in Rutherford with my husband Chris and our son Jakob. Jakob is 13 years old and is currently in Grade 8 at Johnny Bright School. We’ve been living in this neighborhood since August 2014, and we absolutely love it here. Our house is small, but we couldn't ask for anything more and we are totally blessed with what we have!
We do have added family members. . . . kitty's! Their names are Ace and Vader. The kids all love them and they love all the attention that they get back! ! ! You should see the school kids when the cats are in the field! It's a joy to see the smiles: )
Our backyard faces onto the Johnny Bright School Yard, so it’s been more than convenient to get our son as well as the other children to school each day.
On PD days or full days spent in my home, I like to keep busy with the kids. Depending on the season, we do all sorts of outdoor activities. Being so close to the field gives us ultimate access to run around, play soccer, play catch, just do whatever. In the winter we build forts, run free or go sledding. In the fall we go on scavenger hunts. In the spring we go on walks, and we love going to the duck ponds to feed the ducks! The kids also enjoy doing crafts as well.
I have all types of experience when it comes to caring for children. But of course being a mother is the best experience one can ever get. I used to take care of children full-time before I decided I wanted to go to school to become a Health Care Aide. I love nursing, and love helping others that can no longer help themselves. I have a huge heart and am very good with kids!
I have decided that I want to be at home more. Especially to raise our son, and when I worked evenings and shift work at the hospital…. I wasn’t home all that much. I worked at the U of A Hospital and I worked private care for a special needs girl who needed full care and all my attention and time. But like I mentioned not being at home that much was hard on my family. . . . . So I decided to take on before and after school care as my career. I get to be home more and I still get to enjoy taking care of others! ! !
In our home we are very caring, fun, loving, and goofy people! Were honest and outgoing and what can I say were a happy little family!
I have no doubts at all that your child /children will have a fun time here. Also I assure you that you will have peace of mind knowing that your child /children are in good hands.

My Regulations
 Drop off time in the mornings beginning at 6: 30am
 Pick up times in the evenings at 6: 00pm.
 Payment due at the 1st of each month.
 Cheques made payable to Jill McDonald. If you’re not paying by cheque, please let me know how you will be paying. I accept E-transfers and credit card as well.
 I do prefer E-transfers as method of payment
 Breakfast and after school snacks are included.
I do not take children that have peanut allergies, sorry.
 We have lots of crafts, coloring books, board games, puzzles, rainbow loom, lego, and different toys, etc. I’m sure your child will be content with what we have here. If not feel free to bring a few things here too!
 And were living in times of technology! Jakob has an Xbox 360 as well as a Wii. If you do not want your kids playing on any of these devices be sure to let me know! Your child can also bring his /her devices here on PD days /rainy days as well too.
 I also believe communication is the key to success. So if there is anything I could change to make you and your kids happier, please let me know and I will do the same.

Morning Routine

Kids can be dropped off as early as 6: 30am. I will consider earlier drop off times if you need it. I will provide breakfast for the kids in the mornings. Cereals, oatmeal, fruit, toast or waffles. If your child has any preferences make sure to let me know.
Since we live exceptionally close to JB School, I’ve been in the habit of leaving our house at 8: 20ish to make sure no one is late! We will use the backyard entrance into JB schoolyard. I will walk your child /children to our designated drop off spot each morning to be on time for their first class which begins at 8: 30am.

Afternoon Routine

Kids can be picked up at our house no later than 6: 00pm. I will provide after school snacks as well. I prefer to go the healthy route like fruit and veggies, cheese, granola bars etc. But if it’s okay with you I can also serve rice krispies, or cookies included with their snack. Kids need to have a healthy balance!
I will have an agreed meeting spot for the children to meet me after school. It’s by the portables /tarmac located behind JB School.

PD Days

I will care for your child full-time on PD Days as well as teacher convention days, teachers day in lieu of, operational days and board approved non-instructional days if you so require. There is no additional fee for these days, it’s included in the monthly fee.
However spring and winter break I would like to be with my family, so I will be closed.
I do offer summer care, mostly just drop in days during July and August, but I do provide full-time summer care in August. I reopen again in September, your spots will be saved, so don’t worry. However…if you’re moving on somewhere else please be kind and give me adequate notice: )


Jill’s Before and After Care Fee’s

Before and After School Care Fees are $515. 00 per child a month

Tax receipts for monthly child care can be given each month if you require, or I can hang on to all of them and submit them to you at the end of the year (December) Included with your receipts is your yearly statement.

Client Responsibilities
 Please provide me with all contact information, including your address
 List any allergies, food preferences etc.
 As well as any information I may need to know about your child /children’s needs.
 Communication is key, so if you’re going to be late or whatever the case may be please text or call me. 780 240-0725
 All cheques /payments made payable to Jill McDonald on the 1st of each month.
